Looking for inexpensive but quality jeans

So my last pair of 100% cotton Wrangler jeans that I bought had 7 loops. I've been shopping for new ones, and find that they now they come with only 5 loops. Same with Lee. Even Levi's for which you pay extra for the brand name, come with 5 loops. Talk about cutting corners. LL Bean comes with 5 loops now. Must be under $50. Is this a lost cause? Looking for suggestions.

How do you feel about camoflage? BDU/ACUs have 7 loops. I've worn them for work for years, and have started wearing them everywhere. They're comfortable, and have lots of pockets. Camo isn't my favorite, but fuck it. It's more important to feel good than look good.

all the lees i bought a year or two ago have 7 loops so i doubted you

but nope, i check walmart now for regular men's lees, and it does look like they have 5

Another vote for Carhartt ... every piece of clothing I've had from them has been extremely durable/shrink resistant.

I just bought a pair of Levi 559s yesterday. They have seven loops. Also stretch.

Can't say I've ever had an issue due to having five belt loops instead of seven.

Bought some Levis Denizen jeans from Target over the Winter. They're nice. Affordable, and so far they seem reasonably durable. I like the semi-stretchiness in certain areas. Makes them super comfy. I dunno how many loops they have off hand though.

I think Duluth Trading Co jeans have 7 loops. Looks like it on the pics on their site.

According to a chat session with a Wranglers rep on their website, since they have discontinued their Rustler line, they now only offer 7 belt loops on jeans with waists between 34 and 42 inches.
Any suggestions on where to get 32 or 33 inch waist 7 belt loop jeans? Thanks

Hi Brian, not sure why the Wrangler rep told you that, since, among others, their 13MWZ jeans have 7 belt loops. I’m wearing a pair with a 31-inch waist right now. These come in waist sizes from 27 – 42, so you should be able to get some that work for you. Wrangler’s 13MGS George Strait Cowboy Cut jeans also have 7 loops and waist sizes start at 29 inches.

I'm intrigued - what advantage does 7 loops have over 5? Is the number of loops even noticeable? Like what does the 2 more loops do for you that you would skip out on 5 loop jeans and make it a key spec in your search for denim?

I never gave it much thought, but more loops hold a belt better. With fewer loops, the material tends to bunch, and a belt goes over the top of the pants.

There will be less sagging with more loops. Some might need extra support for heavy things hanging off belts.

Duluth has those jeans that prevent "plumbers butt".

So if you bend a lot and don't want to show your white pasty hairy ass crack to the people that matter (i.e. your daughter's friends), they're the way to go!

Thought it was the long tail tshirts that prevented that, not the jeans. Their jeans are known for "ballroom", the extra patch of denim/gusset in the crotch area that allows you more room.
