Hey guys,
Sadly I haven't been able to get my liquid cooling setup put together in several years. I work a lot more than I used to, and I now have an Apogee GTX, Swiftech 3x120mm radiator, Swiftech MicroRes B, and D5 non-vario sitting around, unused, doing nothing. I couldn't get them to fit into my P182 easily and elegantly (I hate radiators hanging off the back), so I just gave up for a while.
Now I'm using a Silverstone FT02, which isn't the best case for liquid cooling by any means, but I think I can make it work. There's enough space for a 2x120mm radiator in the bottom (I might need to make custom brackets), and enough space for a 3x120mm if I had a shorter graphics card. There's plenty of room in the 5.25" bays, so I'm thinking about putting the reservoir and pump up there.
With that said, my questions are the following:
- I recently upgraded to an LGA 1156 system. Are there any adapters for the Apogee GTX or will I have to buy a newer waterblock?
- Which 5.25" bay reservoir should I use? I'd prefer something that allows me to keep the existing faceplate installed, if possible.
- What's the best way to attach my pump to the top of the reservoir, assuming it'll sit on top of it?
- I don't want to drill into this case (not yet, anyway), so any advice as far as a fillport and T-line? If the reservoir is easy enough to get to, I can just fill it from there.
Unfortunately I don't have the cash to spend much on the setup, so if I end up having to buy a new waterblock, pump (for space requirements), radiator, and reservoir I might just forget about the whole idea.
Thanks.
