Looking for new computer chair recommendations

Old chair is shot and looking to replace. Looking for something under 200 dollars preferably.

Any recommendations are appreciated!

My first thought. Use one of your kitchen chairs that came with the set but you never use. Seriously. My family didn't notice the missing chair for months.

Whatever you do, get genuine leather. I got this Sealy (not my pic) over a decade ago for about $120 and have tried replacing it with newer versions I thought were better. They all began to fade or rip and after all this time I'm still on that original one, still good as new. I've worked from home 13 years now so I'm literally in this chair all day every day.

I've seen them for as low as $300 on refurbs and companies going out of business . More than likely it will be the last office chair you'd ever buy and the most comfortable chair you'll ever buy. See if you can find a local place that carries them and check it out for yourself as they come in a couple different sizes.

Try used office furniture stores first. You can often find barely used Steelcase chairs for under $100.

the comfort of the aeron depends on how you sit in it. for someone like me who leans forward most of the time, the aeron is not comfortable, it's terrible.

steelcases are much much better for that type of sitting.

The first one would be nice in fabric, stay away from 'bonded leather' it's bits of hides ground up and mixed with PU and they really suck.

Normally agree but the OP wanted to stay at $200 or lower. Have to make compromises in that range.

Our sofa sets are cloth because of comfort (they also stain). I usually am not a fan of cold leather or hot sticky leather, but for an office chair, durability matters a lot. Besides, nobody's saying you can't put a cushion on the seat. I'm sitting on one of those gel ones right now. Where non-leather rips/wears is in the arms and the thigh area.

I have the same one as well and I like it also, and keep my arms folded up most of the time so that feature is also a plus. Only downside is the mesh is not comfortable if you are sitting on it in your underwear, it is just not comfy on exposed skin. Obviously this is only if you are using it at home, I wear pants at the office, at least for now.

I like mine for the exact same reason. I can fold up the arms out of the way if I want to play my guitar.

Used Steelcase Leap or Herman Miller Aeron. The Aeron are more in the $300 range though.
