Looking for optimal memory

I'm looking for 1GB of ram for my new system and I've always went with Kingston ValueRam, but I've been reading that I should look into 2.5 cas latency. Can someone explan why that is?

I currently have 1GB of Kingston ValueRam sitting around and I was planning on adding another 512 or so, but maybe I'd rather just scrap that whole idea and get 1GB of something better?

This is the motherboard that I have, is Patriot and OCZ ram even compatible with it?

One of the best ram for the a8v deluxe is OCZ PC3200 Platinum Rev. 2.0.
The nice thing about this ram is that it will overclock to about DDR500 2.5-3-3-5 at 2.7 volts with this mobo. Very few of other rams will do it as they need more volts than the mobo can supply.

Going from CAS3 to CAS2.5 will do nothing for real world performance. Just stick with what you got.

Might be a question with an obvious answer, but can i mix cas3 latency ram and cas2.5 latency ram?

I was looking at maybe just getting 2 sticks of the follow ram, since it's actually cheaper than the kingston value ram in the long run (and you guys are saying ocz is better than kingston).
