I am looking for recommendation for a Windows-based tablet. I am currently considering a used Dell Venue Pro 11. If you have personal expeience with ANY tablets ... please post them.

I simply want to experience Windows on a mobile device before I consider anything new.

Thank you ...

I have a Huawai MateBook E Signature and an iPad Pro 12.9" at home. When it comes to being used as a _tablet_ meaning no keyboard, just me and the slab of glass, I 100% prefer the iPad. The UI is better for touch interaction (even with Windows in 'tablet mode'), because all the touch targets are larger and the gestures are more useful for going from app to app. When I hook them up to keyboards, that equation changes a little because the MateBook has a trackpad, something I always reach for when I connect my iPad to my Brydge keyboard.

Also, for the things that I do on tablets (kitchen screen/speaker, audio editing, couch surfing, and light gaming) the iPad Pro just fits the bill better for me. The MateBook is a fine device, I just am never reaching for it first in any circumstance (the screen is particular is really nice). I'm also way deeper in the iDevice ecosystem, AND have been using iPads for 8 years, so I'm just way more comfortable with it.

That said, I'm looking to get rid of it, so PM me if you're interested.

My question: what do you intend to use it for?

Windows on tablets is generally best if you intend to frequently use the device like a laptop, or if there's some Windows-only app you absolutely need. If that's the case, the Venue might be alright, or possibly a Surface Go if you want the 'official' Windows tablet experience. Just remember to get the requisite keyboard attachment if you do want that laptop-like experience.

But if you're getting it to use it primarily as a touch-only tablet, or you're just going to be standard things like browsing the web, watching videos and checking email... just get an iPad. Apple's interface is decidedly better for touch, there are more (and often better) touch-native apps than on any other platform, and you'll probably get better performance and battery life in the bargain.

I apologize. I should have mentioned that I already have an iPad mini and a reg iPad. I also have an older android tablet that I have modded to use just with my OBD II scanner to use as an auto analyzer.

The purpose of my post was simply to query the community for advice. I am simply looking for a used windows 10 tablet so that I can evaluate the experience. A mobile i5 processor or better is preferred.

Thanks ...

I've been buying used Surface Pro 3's for a couple of years now. Got one with i5/8GB/256GB with new typecover and pen for $240 shipped from Ebay. It's AWESOME!

I've also tried the i3 version (gave it to a friend) and it's not really noticably slower, and neither is the i5/4GB version unless you're using lots of RAM of course.

I have a Dell Venue Pro 11. The real laptop/tablet one. Has SSD drive and such. It's actually pretty damn good. Also have the KB. Too bad dell stopped updating/supporting them. If you can get one at a good price, go for it. I also have one of the HD nuvision ones and its garbage.

Are you using Win 10 on your tablet? If so, did it come with it or did you upgrade to 10? I bought a Venue Pro 11 in mint condition. I replaced the CMOS battery and SSD. I tried to install Win 10 using a UEFI thumb drive but the thing keeps shutting down between 1% to 60% of the install ... just dead.

What am I doing wrong?

It originally came with 8.1 and I did the free migration to 10. I replaced the SSD twice but each time I just cloned the drive. I have no idea why your's is doing that.
