Looking for recommendations on a non-gaming build

1. The computer will be used primarily for streaming movies, playing movies, videos, and digital music files.

2. I figure $900 for cpu, motherboard, and 16gb of RAM. More if I need a new power supply, video or sound card.

3. I will be buying the components in the US.

5. I do not have a preference for one brand over another. Lately, the last 10 years, I have been building Intel machines but I could go AMD if it makes sense.

6. I plan on using my current hard drives, monitor, case, and other peripheries.

7. I do not plan on overclocking.

8. I currently use my 1080p TVs as monitors. Soon I will be upgrading to a 4K set.

9. I plan on building as soon I as spec out the system. My current system is misbehaving and is old!

10. Will need to purchase Windows 10 for the system.

Streaming media in, as opposed to streaming video game playing out, is not an intensive application. Depending on where you're streaming from you could get by with as little as a Kodi box, or maybe a Roku.

If you must have a full computer, look at a Kaby Lake Pentium. You should be nowhere near $900.

This will do more than fine, but if you want to do some more serious gaming you should replace that 1050 Ti for the 1060 6Gb or even 580, but the prices currently are not optimal for that.

Add 64-128GB M.2 SSD for operating system, 4-8GB of RAM, and a 2.5" drive if you need local storage. It should come out to around half of your budget and will still be massive overkill for your described uses.
