Hey, is this what you guys are talking about? (Is thinking of buying these)
E2C
I know this auction is expired but the idea is to get some of these and possibly,
E3C
though the problem with THAT auction is the fact I don't see any phones!
or maybe these...
E4C

Not sure which one I should get, my only gripe I see is with the E4c's 1/4 which makes hookup to an MP3 player a pain... Is the problem associated with that negated by it's quality? Just not sure what to get...

Edit: I have no idea what to get, just looking for some IEM 'phones...

Don't get any of them. Get the Altec Lansing iM716. They kick all their butts for $120. A lot of people are reporting that it sounds similar to the much more expensive Etymotic ER4s, which is not surprising since the altecs were designed by etymotic.

WTF kind of post is this? What exactly are you asking? What is your price range? What are you using it for?

I have the E2c's... but with best buy discount, 57.00. The e2c's are amazing, the accoustics are nuts. If you like a lot of Bass though dont buy them. But if you dont listen to a lot of techno or rap then the e2c's are awesome and I reccomend them to anyone.

Alright, Well my price range is around $100-$200, looking for some 'quality phones. Price range shouldn't technically matter though as I've been seeing that the shures can be had for less than MSRP...

e4 require a high-powered source

e3 are weak in bass and detailed in treble... it is the e2 that are strong in bass and they are damn well good at it. ive owned about 12 pairs of audiophile "grade" earphones and i ended up selling almost ALL of them and kept these. portable, efficient, detailed, seals out noise... really dont need anything else

Shure Headphones arent meant for Bass. The headphones are really meant for stage performers so they can hear just the instruments accoustics and nothing else (Crowd etc), having bass is more or less pointless for the stage performers. Not to say the bass is about the same as ipod headphones, of course it is better just not a heavy bass.

Also, the further up the line you go the less bass you're going to recieve. The E2c's will probally be your best bet.

::Edit:: And by a lot of bass I mean you wont be achieving the same large ammount of bass as you would with large headphones.

Try the Altec Lansing iM671 if you are considering headphones for under $100.
Or you can buy inferior shure canal phones..

<-currently has a shure e2c.

Anyways, I have a shure e2c that is brand new that I'll sell to you for $69 shipped. It's still sealed.
I'm getting the Etymotic ER-4P for $180, so these have to go.

Not true, it is the general consenus of Head-Fi that the Shure e4c's or Westone UM2's are the best IEM for the iPod.

For the more frugal of audiofiles, UM-1's are the best $109 IEM. Much better than Shure e2's.

These are only reconmendations for IEM's, if you want open or closed headphones we open up another huge box.

And whatever you do, do not become a member of head-fi, it will hurt you so badly. (Just bought Grado SR125 for $150 today on a whim. I'm getting impatient for my PS-1's.)

(frugal, lol)
