Looking for some suggestions

I am looking for a single player fps to play. I have played the following:
Half life
Half life 2
Bioshock
System shock
Fear
Cod4 and WaW
Sof2
Far Cry
RTCW

I tried to play Deus Ex and Stalker, could not get into either one, and uninstalled both. I tried Crysis Yawn. I don't care for third person views or Rts type games.
Does anyone have a suggestion for something I might try. I liked the original half life and bioshock the best. I also don't really care for non stop zombie action either.

Star Trek Voyager Elite Force is a bit dated now but was fun.

What about the DOS classics: Doom, Doom II, Duke 3D, Blood ?

Yeah, I forgot, I played the Doom series, in fact only recently finished Doom3. I had to make myself finish it. Although I will say it got better towards the end. I don't know how I forgot Duke, that was the game that got me hooked. I also played Redneck rampage from that time period. To me game playability is way more important than fancy graphics. I mean Crysis was beautiful if not boring.

Go take a look at the GOG.com site for some cheap down-loadable oldies that might not be
available elsewhere anymore...they have several shooters like the original Ghost Recon,
SHOGO, KingPin, Duke3d, and Rise of the Triad.

I still remember seeing those graphics for the first time and being blown away. They won't have the same effect now, but you still might like the game.

Although they are mostly RPG FPS style of play, fallout 3 is a pretty awesome game.

Crysis believe it or not is actually a pretty good game if you can run it decently enough

I'm kind of surprised you don't like Stalker looking at your list. I too, am strictly FPS guy (w/ some occasional RPG elements, ie DE and Stalker, Fallout 3) and Stalker is one of the best games I've ever played. Perhaps you didn't give it long enough? How long did you play? I don't stand for too much D & D type crap in my games but the RPG stuff was pretty intuitive after a bit. It really is a stellar game for atmosphere when you get going.... Maybe Mirror's Edge? Definitely a different game. I bet you'd like Quake 4 or the Fear expansions....

I don't care for the RPG stuff either. Stalker, I played it for quite some time. All I did was go from here to there, and died of the same old thing. Either dogs would get me or I needed to go through radiation and got so beat up everytime I went through it that it just got old. Then when you got into some great gun fights, trying to clean out building etc the stupid enemy guns seemed like they did not miss, but you could unload tons of ammo at them and they would not take much damage. Then there was an unreal amount of different gun types and ammo you collected. Some of the guns where much better than others and it just got old trying to figure out what gun to carry, how to avoid the damn dogs, and radiation. Then there was the life like real walking wobble you did, it kind of made me sick watching the screen and I could only play it so long. I don't know the game seemed like it could have been great but felt unbalanced to me. I will just caulk it up to different strokes I guess. I found things like going to Zen in half life a blast, where as some people hated it. Oh well..... Then I liked the atmosphere in Bioshock, the sounds and the enemies were different and there were tons of ways to take them out. For instance it was a blast throwing the protection plasmid at the big daddys when there were two of them around. Look out, just watching the fight they got into was a hoot. But then I enjoy just plain old shoot outs with the Germans too. I can't really put my finger on what makes a great game for me other than how it plays. That is a poor explanation but it is the only one I have. Like Deus ex, everyone raves about it, I don't get that game at all. I unistalled it and recently sent it another ATer that asked for it in my game exchange thread. Bored to tears with it.

no, it's not

I liked it... The eye candy makes the game very good in my opinion.

Although I disliked how many bullets it took to kill things... And how many bad guys there was... Eventually I just learned to run away from enemies because that's the best way to do it.
