Looking for the best shower head - high flow - firehose-like

Get a spray nozzle from local garden shop. Screw onto a ball joint. Attach to output pipe of shower.
Now you can control pressure from fire hose to a drizzle.

Usually nozzle comes in silver or brass color.

You forgot the NPT to hose thread adapter

I removed the restrictor on the one that I bought at home depot. Turned a horrible dribble into a raging torrent. I actually added a valve before the shower head so I can fine tune the water pressure.

I knew all new shower heads and faucets were low flow compared to the old days... but I didn't know they were easily modified.

We just finished our bathroom renovation last week. We have a Moen ~10" shower head and were disappointed with the flow rate. I took it off last night, removed the rubber washer, then grabbed the green plastic regulator with pliers and it popped right out.
I was worried it was designed to redirect flow to all of the nozzles equally... but that wasn't the case.

It works great now! Easily twice the volume/pressure, probably more.

Costco has shower heads that most hotels use (speakman or something) for like 20 bucks. You can adjust them to spray like hose.....

DO NOT buy any of those "efficiency" BS showerheads. All they do is restrict the water pressure and make your pipes shake like crazy....

It is illegal to manufacture anything over 2.5gpm.

I never had a problem with new showerheads being restricted, I don't think they are here.
The problem is that some hotels have low water pressure and there's nothing you can do about it. I hate that.

If you have low water pressure, no shower head in the world will help.
I have an older generic "Shower Massage" type head I bought at Big Lots many years ago. I removed the restricter for better flow, and it worked very good when I had good pressure.
After we sold our house 3 years ago, we moved temporarily to a community with very dismal water pressure. (Think when you flush a toilet, your shower STOPS!)
Lowes had a Pump you connect to your water line to increase your pressure, it cost me $300 but was well worth it, IMO.

Just removed the flow restrictor from the second cheapest head they sell at Home Depot. Wow! The restrictor has TINY holes. I bought a modified one off of ebay for another place a few years ago and meh. But this is perfect! I do have decent flow here. Just about the best shower I've ever had. Problem now is hot water will run out fast. Try this before you go buying something expensive.

A restrictor will make the water come out faster at lower pressure. Maybe your water pressure sucks.

No. The orifice will experience higher velocity, but the overall flow rate and velocity at the showerhead nozzles will decrease.

I'll give an update on my experience.

We still love the extra flow/pressure, but it drains the water heater with 1 regular shower.
If we want to take back to back showers, we have to wait 10min or so.

Still worth it.

A decent Toto toilet needs no "fixing". Best damn flushing toilet, much better than the crappy 5 gallon or 3.5 gallon toilets it replaced.

Toto has been making excellent toilets and is part of the reason why they even had the low flow standard put in in 1994. American standard can't make a toilet worth a shit even 20 years later.
