Looking for the fastest Netbook

I'm in the market for the fastest Netbook at the moment. My old MSI wind is dieing. So I need to replace it.

Things I'm looking for:

Netbook form factor.

Speed, the faster the better, for doing "simple" editing of photo's, watching 1080P content, watching HD Flash "Revision 3", playing games like Torchlight and fast web browsing.

10 to 11 inch non-glossy screen, resolution doesn't matter.

Wireless N

HDMI out would be a + but not necessary.

Price is not a concern.

Things I don't care about.

CPU manufacturer as long as it is the fastest

GPU manufacturer, as long as its the fastest

Hard Drive size.

Screen Resolution

keyboard layout / size

Blue Tooth

Battery Run Time

Version of windows, as I will be installing Windows 7 on a new 256 GB SSD

In short the fastest "Netbook" that can be purchased today.

LOLz...dm1z is OK but your link is to a dual core Intel Atom for 500$.

The dm1z can be had with the e350 etc for 400$ look for a coupon. That said, a MacBook Air will be much faster and it can run windows. Theres the 12" ThinkPad X220 with IPS screen and Sandy Bridge. Thatd be even faster, but its 12" not 11".

Theres probably others, but if you can find something with Sandy Bridge thats probably your best bet. Even the IGP on those things aint terrible. If you plan to play games, you might want to try to find something with discrete graphics, but that might be impossible at 11". Youve got the Alienware M11x but its a really big 11" (so like 13" really).

I wonder if theyll be updating the M11x now that Sandy Bridge is here...

Just got my Lenovo X120e...still setting it up, but it's pretty snappy. It's based on the AMD Fusion chips. I have the E350, 4gigs ram, 320g 7200rpm HDD, bluetooth, wireless b/g/n, Win7 Pro-64bit, and 11.6" matte screen.

Bought it through CDW for $526.99 & $28+change for shipping. You could get it cheaper on the lenovo website (free shipping), i think, but I couldn't wait since I leave on vacation next week.

Edit: it has HDMI out.

I was thinking...was your current netbook sufficient? I dont know what game that is, but if it was playable on an MSI Wind itll definately be better on an AMD Fusion based netbook. So while they arent the "fastest" nebooks possible they would be an upgrade from what youve got.

E-350 is generally faster than D525 iirc.

if youre really worried about cpu speed then get a culv netbook, theres a 12" for $300 in hot deals.

if you really just want to do the things you say you want, thats exactly what the e350 netbooks were made for. and they do it on excellent battery life (having an 8hr rated battery life means in 3 years it will probably still last 5 hours at least on a charge, not 1.5 hours like regular netbooks if youre lucky)

i would go for the e350's. its just an overall well put together package, no matter what brand you chose of the actual netbook...
