Hi All-

I'm looking for this unique motherboard. It can support either AMD or Pentium 4.
Here is the specs:

integrated sound card with 1 input, 1 output, 1 mic.
1 Serial port
Game port
2 USB.
Parallel port
1 keyboard port
1 mouse port

If anyone know any motherboard that fits this description I would be very appreciative! Thanks.

Can you clarify on the sound outputs? Would that be two stereo channels plus subwoofer, or ? The remainder of the specs are just about a foregone conclusion on almost all motherboards today.

The 3 audio port (1 output, 1 input, Mic input)

I have this old Dell Dimension XPS R400. I want to replace the motherboard. This chassis does not have the standard I/O backplane. This is the same chassis as Palo Alto ATCX.

Ah rite if its a dell u might hav a bit of a problem then cos they aint std. Is the current mobo broken i.e if it is you can just goto Dell and maybe you can order a spare part. Or do you want to replace mobo because not enough features? Also, you can get cases for bout £30 these days and a cheap mobo for under £90 so it might just b worth doin that

I see now, a non-standard backplane. It might be a good idea to budget for a new case and power supply, because not only will you be free of the backplane issues, you'll be free of any front-panel wiring issues (where Dell may have wired all the power button, reset button and LED wires into one big connector that doesn't jive with an aftermarket motherboard).

I like the case design. It's so quiet. All the power connectors are standard (not proprietary). I want to replace the motherboard because I want a higher processor speed.

Yip, found one. Asus P4S333 w/ Sis 645 chipset. (if this was a 645DX would be awesome).

Another one almost fit perfectly MSI 645E MAX-U (MS-6547E)
But this one has 2 serial ports. hmmm...If cut one serial port off would it short circuit?

Ummm, Oracle, I'd be very carefull assuming that the Dell PS is in fact ATX- I've seen them be the ATX form, but wired differently

DDad is right, Dell has a "proprietary" ATX power supply. Some wiring may be different.

Um I have a question this is serious not to be an a$$, why dont you just get a dremel and cut out the back plate? I have seen some nice dell cases actually too, that had really good circulation and whatnot as well as being quiet. BTW the PS wasn't atx in that one although it had a normal conector, it would not power a normal mother board. It would in the long run be in your best interest to buy a real case though. I finally broke down and did(not a 30$ wonder) and I dont regret it at all.

The dell PSU has the Std. ATX connector, but has an additional AT connector... Nothing but a Dell PSU will pwer a Dell board, and a dell PSU will never power anything else..... it sucks........................
::Edit:: Also, youre gonna want a more powerful PSU anyhow to handle a P4 and DDR... plus all your current hardware. Get a new case, mobo, a quiet but good HSF, and processor... ditch that old machine-> give it to goodwill.

Just buy a new cheap case with a power supply and you will have more choices of boards and prices.
