I'm looking for a very good Web Cam. Everything on the Market seems to be some crummy pin-hole camera. C-net's top five Wem Cams includes the IBM Pro Max and the Logitech 3000; owned them both, They suck! I'm looking for something with decent image quality, the frame rate is always going to be stop and go with a web cam, but why does the image have to look like it's from 1989?

Can anyone recommend any midrange digital cameras that can also be used as a quality web cam? There seem to be a few that are starting to offer this feature. Which ones are good? I'd say I'm looking for something upto $500

Thanks in advance

The Axis 2120 Network Camera certainly has it all, but at $1000 it's a bit spendy, and I really want something that connects to a PC so I have control over the webserver software, the capture-rate etc.
