Speakesy has a buisness class account that comes with 8 static IP addresses and 6mbit down/768 up for like $125 a month with no server restrictions. I am guessing that is the plan he is going with. A buddy of mine has their 3mbit/768kbit plan, and he loves it.

What kind of UL speeds were you getting with your dedicated host? Im not very experienced with servers or serving but 768K upstream doesnt seem like a lot. I mean if you release a new version of your software to DL and 10 people want it at the same time, they will only be able to pull like 10-15 k/s, right? I dont know the size of your typical transfer, but I guess if it is small it should work.

I am just running some numbers here...
A 768 kilobit connection will transfer at 96 kilobytes per second (lets round to 100)
So, 100 KB/s * 60 sec * 60 min * 24 hr * 30days = 259200000 KB per month
259200000 / 1000 = 259200 MB per month
259200 / 1000 = 259.2 GB per month total transfer

and thats if the line is maxed out at all time. this doesnt seem enough BW if you are having overages at 500 GB / month already.

I seriously suggest renting your own server. I don't see how that would come to $400 a month, a 768kbps upload speed is not something that you would really want to run a webserver off of.
