There's the link, I'm looking at it for my college apartment to save space from the CRT.
It will be used for gaming, but nothing hardcore. Anything about this I need to hesitate about? Thanks for the help.

Specs:
20 inch Widescreen WSXGA
1680 x 1050 (Native and Recommended)
160(H)/160(V) viewing angle
.258mm pixel pitch
16.2 million colors
300 cd/m2 brightness
800:1 contrast ratio
5ms Response time

3 year limited parts and labor warranty
189.99 at newegg
179.99 at Tigerdirect (never had good luck with them though)

Does this look OK? Seemed to be a good deal compared to comprable ones, but I just want to make sure.
Again, thanks for any help.

First off:
Your link is broken.

Second:
If you play games, you may have to upgrade you GPU to handle decent FPS at the 1680x1050 resolution. I'm not sure though because it depends on what games you play.

Third:
That is a TN panel. Look here for more information on what that means, but basically it has poor image quality and poor viewing angles. It also only have 6-bit color reproduction, so colors will have poor gradients and look washed out.

I would recommend that you spend the extra $50 and pick up the Acer AL2051W. This is a P-MVA panel that has 8-bit colors. It's a great value for what it gives. I personally own one and have been quite happy with it. There are some backlight bleed issues (in very dark situations and only from certain angles) but this can vary by monitor for any given lot of panels.

Fixed the link, sorry about that.

What about the response time being slower on the Acer AL2051W.
Will that make a difference in gaming?

Thanks for the help.

A 8 ms MVA might look as fast, if not faster than a 5 ms TN. The MVA panel has overdrive and the TN panel doesn't. Here is a nice link if you want to really learn about response time:

X-Bit Labs know their stuff

Just one highlight:

The asymmetry of the response time should be taken into consideration, too. I mean the ratio of the pixel rise and pixel fall times. For example, if we take two monitors with a total response time of 30 milliseconds, but one has 25/5msec pixel rise/fall times (typical for TN matrices) and another has 15/15msec times (this is typical for MVA and PVA matrices), they will display moving objects in a different manner

The Acer with MVA is much better all-around than the Acer with TN, and probably just as good is games.

i can't figure out the TN hate on this forum. most LCDs made today are TN. wanna know why... cuz most people simply don't give a tiny rat's ass. its kind of like sony's numerous expensive formats. they're better than the competition but not enough to be worth extra money.

Hmm, walmart either went up or newegg went down just over the last day. Cause they were the same exact price two days ago. I was looking at that monitor too, debating if i should get it. I was wanting to get two monitors for a dual setup. I could get two and a dual monitor arm all for well under 500 bucks.

I"d get the Acer AL2051W, if only I could mount it on an arm. That thing is for its stand only. Plus, it has speakers and I don't want that.

Well, the speakers are built into the base and you can't even tell they're there until you try them out...they suck...

@tanis: The MVA looks way better than a TN. The majority of users can't tell a difference because all that they've ever used is a TN. I have both, and I can assure you that the TN suck bigtime when compared to the MVA.
