Do you think if you had the higher resolution of the new iPad or a Transformer Infinity you might think differently?

I found when I had both the iPad and Nexus 7 in landscape mode, you had to scroll to see anything with the N7 but didn't have to with the iPad. I would love the portability of the N7 but at home, I see myself always using the iPad. Also, with a larger tablet, like the Transformer or iPad, you can dock it and use a keyboard, if you so choose to desire. Does the N7 have bluetooth?

Maybe, I should just bite the bullet and buy both.

I have the iPad 3 and Nexus 7. I love the iPad, but I tend to use my Nexus 7 more because I like it's lighter size. It's much more comfortable to hold. iPad is heavier and they tapered the edges too much.

I've not had any issues reading web pages in landscape mode on my Nexus 7. Not sure what you mean by scrolling. Horizontal scrolling, just double tap to zoom out if the browser tries to automatically zoom in on some websites (think you can manage this behavior on some browsers, Dolphin doesn't do it to me anymore). And I can read websites just fine in landscape mode without horizontal scrolling. I love reading websites on my Nexus 7.

I think if i were to buy right now (i have the newest iPad fyi) id get the 8.9" Kindle Fire HD wifi. We first had the original Kindle Fire but i found 7" too small for myself. 10" iPad is a good size, maybe even a tad large. I think that is why 8.9"might be the best size at least for me.

I am also a Amazon Prime member so the Fire does have added benefits for me as well.

Anyone have any opinions on the Galaxy Note 10.1? I have only seen the commercials, but it looks pretty good.

As the owner of a Transformer Prime TF201, I definitely would not recommend it. It's very unstable and apps close randomly all the time. Maybe the Infinity is better?

I appreciate your input and comparison. By scrolling I meant vertical scrolling. In landscape on the Nexus 7, I find myself constantly scrolling down to view a webpage. With the larger screen, I can see text just fine in portrait and obviously can see a whole lot more of a webpage.

I'm wondering if a 8.9" Kindle or 8" Ipad mini might be the sweet spot for a tablet.

I played with both again lastnight, one thing I noticed was that N7 had a bit of lag when trying to scroll down a webpage, no lag with the iPad. Anybody else notice this?

He and anyone else can call it whatever they want. My point though was that "iPad 3" isn't actually its real name.

If you want to call it iPad 3, we'll understand you. If you want to call it Retina iPad, we'll understand you.

Better than people who call it iTouches....

Okay, so the issue is mostly not enough vertical space in landscape. The Chrome and Nexus 7 UI do unfortunately eat up a lot of vertical space. Dolphin is pretty nice on the Nexus 7 though because you can use full screen mode (the soft keys are still present) and have a lot more vertical space.

I really hope Google adds a full screen mode to Chrome some day. Previous AOSP browser had it.

Android 4.1 is a big improvement to providing a smooth performance. But Chrome still sometimes has issues with lag. Dolphin is smoother in my experience. Though my iPad 3 still wins in the smoothest experience. Not sure Android will ever close that gap.
