Hey guys, i was planning on purchasing this PC tomorrow, was curious as to your thoughts on the build?

Three threads on the same topic merged together. Please keep it to one thread per build please. You get a lot of conflicting advice when you ask slightly different questions in different threads, but all pertaining to the same general topic.

Well, we need to know what you're planning to use it for. I'll tell you straight up one thing though, it's going to be weak in the gaming department. Especially compared to what you could build yourself for $750.

Personally, I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole, but otherwise it's fine. It just depends on what you are planning to do on it.

just plan on typical internet usage, maybe some CS:Go

If that's all then the system you're looking at is overkill. I might actually recommend a system with an AMD APU instead depending on the detail level you're looking for in CS:GO.

To answer your question, OP, it's OK, not great. It has some odd specs (2TB drive but no SSD, 12GB RAM when 8GB would be fine, weak GPU.) You would be better off building your own, if you are willing to do that, but otherwise you are at the mercy of what is available.

Another good place to shop for prebuilts is the Dell Outlet, just FYI.

Well if you're not comfortable building a computer that's fine and understandable but there are better options than Best Buy. I might recommend that you look at prebuilts from iBuyPower and CyberPower some of them are carried in retail outlets that might be near you or you can custom build one and order online. For example here's what $750 gets from iBuyPower:

FX 6300 (probably) on an ancient outdated platform (on a stock factory HP mobo to boot unless its an APU which it probably isn't as it comes with a GPU) with mismatched RAM (12GB eh?), rebadged audio that is probably ALC 662 or lower with nasty audio quality (especially comapred to ALC 1150), only 2 USB 3 on the back, hardly any expansion, cheapo $10 case and PSU. Meh overall, you can build a better box for $750.

I believe the processor is an FX8300. In any case, for low/mid level gaming, it would be better to get a 500 to 600 dollar Dell with an i5 and add a GTX 750Ti. For the same price, you would have a better processor for the vast majority of uses and a much better gpu as well.

If the only uses are for general use, and *only* CS, an AMD quad core apu would be sufficient, as would an i3 or even a pentium with a GTX750.

Obviously the best case in this price range is to build you own, but I do understand the OPs hesitancy to try it on his own.

What he said I'm sure.

No idea, I've built my own at least 25 years now.

Hey guys, so Im sure some of you remember me from last night I wanted to buy that ASUS PC from bestbuy. I ended up going through iBuyPower and putting this together ( my friend who is a CS major and works in IT helped me pick the parts ) but a link to a screenshot is below. I plan on playing PC games such as CS:Go, maybe WoW, maybe LoL, some Runescape maybe, who knows.

Yuck!
I could build a Haswell Pentium rig that would be 2x better for around $400 max.less.
Every single one of those games runs on 1-2 threads.
and those AMD threads don't do nearly as much per clock cylcle as the Haswell ones.
Translation:You could get 15-20 more FPS for much cheaper.
Building a computer is very easy.
It's $798 with "rush" at that place..

or..
The same parts (basically) with equal or better quality + an r9 270x delivered to your door for 666.89
..and will get there faster I'd bet.

Are you saying you will build that for me? and deliver it to me? Cuz im down if its better LOL

I built my first computer at 12 years old, it isn't hard, almost anyone can do it as long as you know how to tighten a screw and insert cables into slots.

He is recommending you build your own, it's a good learning experience, it's generally cheaper than buying prebuilt computers, and generally better quality parts as well.

I tried this once, and ended up wasting 600$ on breaking a part and not putting stuff in the right place, never again. I am fine with paying for someone to assemble it.
