Hey guys! I'll try to keep this as short as possible. I graduated from college this weekend and have about $750 or so that I'm thinking of using to upgrade my main system. Here is what I have at the moment.
Antec P160 Case w/430W PSU
Intel D865GBF Mainboard
P4 3.0Ghz w/HT
Zalman CPU Cooler
1GB PC2700 RAM
74GB Raptor
250GB Maxtor Drive
Floppy
52X CDRW
16X DVDRW
ATI All-In-Wonder 2006
Sound Blaster Audigy
Nexus Rheobus to Control Fans
Everything is about 3 or so years old except the DVDRW drive, video card, and raptor drive. I'm thinking about keeping both hard drives, both optical drives, and the floppy and upgrading the rest. I am running this through a KVM so the new video card must be standard VGA and I'd like to have dual outputs as I do now. I'd prefer to have good onboard audio with optical out to connect to my LCD TV if needed. I play Flight Simulator and similar games from time to time and work with videos and photos often. I'd like to make this system as quiet as possible using air cooling either with or without a rheobus. A temp readout like I have on my P160 case would also be nice. Any component suggestions you can make would be greatly appreciated. I plan to sell all the other components that I don't use and expect to get at least around $200 to $300 for them so I'm looking to initially spend up to around $1000.
Thanks,
Al
