My first friend that went to Japan was this coke bottled glass nerd when he went there, but even the nerdiest guys are seen as cool there i guess. He no longer wears glasses, and was even heavily into MMA when he was there (training). He loved the experience. A friend's GF went there not too long ago to teach english, and she's chinese. I have no idea what her experience has been like yet.

To teach in Korea you need a degree, NOT a diploma or a partially complete degree, but a full degree. As well you will need to do some in class teaching.
Atleast that's what a couple of my friends had to do before taking a job teaching english in Korea.

A university is a collection of colleges. That's why at a university you have stuff like the college of engineering, college of science, fine arts, liberal arts...

I don't believe a degree is absolutely necessary, but I don't doubt that it would help. For the record: I'm not asian at all, and I hear americans/canadians stand out well over there...what with being over 5 feet and all... Kidding.

heh, i dunno.. mcdonalds can be really damn cheap. and subway.. 3 foot longs for $12... I eat half per meal.. that's a great deal (local shop has it.. heh)
