Making something forbidden and giving a lot of press only makes it more popular.
Internet gambling is about to have it's biggest boom ever.

Hmm I was just thinking - I got $500 pending a withdrawl, man I hope the on-liners don't decide to do a big US money grab here...there'd be no legal recourse

We still have it in the LV Valley.

You can sign up an account with a couple of casino books and go at it.

they would never do that. The only ones that could even think about it are the small ones that are close to going under anyway..and why would u do play there in the first place.

These are international compaines. If they did that they would lose business from everyone...and while they would make money in the short term..they would be losing all the money they could make in the long term.

I'm SO glad I live in a "free country"... So what, exactly, does "freedom" mean these days?

Who do you think lobbied for the bill? Yup, you guessed it. To protect themselves, they eliminated the competition. Now the professional gamblers can't just sit home and play 8-10 tables on one computer screen. They have to actually go back out to the casinos and sit at the smoke infested tables and play one hand at a time while the house collects their rakes.

It means you're free to have at the expense of others. When the Constitution was drawn up, "liberty" was thought to entail ownership of property (land), but back then you could just go settle it.

LOL, your post reminded me of the "savings account" bit Walter Brennon did in the movie "Sgt. York".

This doesn't change much of anything. No credit card will let you fund an online gambling site already (try going to pokerstars, partypoker, or anywhere else and enter your credit card # in and let me know how well that works..). You just use sites like firepay or netteller, fund accounts there, then transfer those funds to the gambling sites.

This law would not have any effect on that.

(Though I agree its a really stupid law, I'm just saying, don't overreact by saying "Looks like online gambling is dead for good...", because it most certainly isn't)

I'm afraid everything you have stated is incorrect.

Party has already announced they are banning all US players and Stars is expected to soon.
