I had to chime in on this one. Berkley has been a major refuge of anti-American policy since the early 1960's. If there is anything that can be taught to tear apart the social, religious or political structure of the United States of America, it is taught there. My dream would be to ship all the ultra-radical liberals, socialists and communists from Berkley to a region of the world of their choice. Let them live their lives they way they want to according to their ideology. Their perfect "state" wouldn't last ten years. They would be bankrupt, both morally and economically. The only way they would be able to survive would to become more conservative and adopt the ideology of capitalism which they so strongly protest while they are being funded by it.
I could go on, but I won't. The America-haters who want us to cook over coal stoves, carry our water from wells 2 miles from home and have absolutelyl no national pride wouldn't understand.
I was raised singing "God Bless America", saying the Pledge of Allegiance with God in it, and standing with my hand over my heart when the "Star Spangled Banner" was played.
While others were too scared to sacrifice their own skins I made the choice to support my country in an unpopular war. I believed in what I was doing.
While others were feathering their nests and climbing the corporate ladder I decided, once again on my own, to serve my country in the Peace Corps.
While others were hoarding their emotions and time, I gave refuge to 41 neglected and abused foster children over a period of 5 years.
While others were too busy being full of themselves I adopted and raised 2 children.
While others were keeping the secret to their success to themselves, I sought out others who were stumbling and helped them get back on the road to self-sufficiency.
Yes, I am one of those hated patriots. I am the guy next door. I cry sometimes when I see the flag of the U.S.A. go by in a parade.
God Bless America!
