I liked it. I was especially impressed by the little kid actor. I'm usually pretty critical of child actors because they all pretty much suck (ex: I thought super 8 acting sucked and they were even older kids) but this guy nailed it. IMO I think this is a kid who could pull off the lead in the upcoming Enders Game movie.

The whole premise of the.movie is flawed because it assumes the Earth is stationary. In reality, if you send someone back in time, that person will be floating out in space because the Earth hasn't reached that area yet. Now if you can also send someone through time and space, why not just send that person into the sun?

You're assuming the time machine functions on a fixed point in space in a universe that is absolute. But everything we can calculate with space and time is based on relative references. I hypothesize that the only way a time machine will ever work is if it is dependent on large masses and their gravity, so we would never be able to use it in deep space. Space itself would have to swap between 2 times, moving matter and energy both forward and backwards in time, relative to gravitational flux of the planet.

Yeah. The kid actor was fine, but his character was pointless and made the story silly and weak.

Could you imagine recruiting someone who's never even seen a car? Also, it's very clear that they have no control over where the body appears (I assume it's where the machine was operated 30 years in the future). They knew that 30 years prior it was a cornfield with limited opportunity for witnesses. The further back the less they could be sure it would not be witnessed.

Also, it's not exactly living until time travel is invented that is the problem, it's letting the secret of loopers out that is. Someone 200 years ago could spill the beans pretty easily and they wouldn't have their future guy there to take him out before he does. That was Jeff Bridges' function, pretty much.

Jeff Daniels, isn't it? My wife and I saw this Wednesday night. Slow start, got better. The gunfire was too loud relative to the rest of the soundtrack, which I'm sure was intentional. Anyway, it was entertaining. You can't over-analyse the premise because it's obviously ridiculous and cartoonish on every level.

*shrugs* I thought it was fine. They introduced the whole TK concept during the opening scenes which kind of set the stage for even more ridiculous stuff than just time travel assassinations. Once they put you in that mindset it's pretty easy to enjoy the whole thing for what it is. IMO the kid's freak-outs gave some added action when things were getting boring.
