but just so everyone knows, this is only the 2 dvd set.,... in november they release the 4 dvd set with 30 minutes of scenes they cut from the movie, and some of the scenes are really great stuff... this one is a MUST have for serious LOTR fans, although you might like to own both....

Just so you know ... people have had no problem redeeming the coupons for gift cards in the past despite what the terms and conditions say.

Has anyone looked at the coupon book that came inside the DVD case? There is a $10 MIR for people who buy both the current release and the Special Edition once it comes out. The problem is that the current release needs to be purchased after 8-6-02! I'm a little upset that they are leaving out all the fans who did preorders and have reciepts dated before the official release date:disgust:!!!

Because the versions coming out November 12 are extended versions. If you want the theatrical version then you have to get this version. Also, the deals you get with this version make it less than $10.. or if you look at it the other way.. free.
