I was able to buy it for $9.99 which includes the first month. Lifetime sub is now $299. Monthly fee is $15. I'll give it a month...

Well, let me know if you want to re-up after a month and I'll see about getting you a key for the 9.95 (or 9.99) price. At least you can access those bows I mailed you now.

Spent almost an hour dredging through the tech support to find the "top 4 reasons why you get a black screen on launch" - LMAO . Did all 4 of them. Still get black screen. Wow, 3 hours of trouble shooting later and I still can't get the game to work. Guess I won't be subscribing *eyeroll*

But other than that it seems like a great game. lolz

This gives no one any help to help you.

What resolution is your desktop at? What graphics card? Current drivers? What res is the game at on launch? Is the game in windowed or full screen mode?...etc

Well I got it figured out. The first time through I checked for sound driver updates with vista because I figured that would be sufficient. It didn't update. This time I went to mobo website and downloaded the driver manually. Fixed the issue. Guess I was just being lazy. Never had this kind of a problem with a sound driver.

I only played for 10 minutes or so last night because it was past my bedtime. I'm kind of underwhelmed with the graphics. Even at max resolution on ultimate settings it still looks pretty mediocre, IMO. Don't know what I was expecting though.

Well, more issues. Now the game crashes to desktop about 50% of the time at launch. It has also frozen 3 times in a row when I was able to get to the character creation menu. WTF? Shouldn't this crap be fixed by now.

Mine also crashes to desktop about 50% of the time at launch, but I just figured that was Windows 7 related. Never had any freeze ups though.

Well I did some research and I think its related to ATI drivers for my 4850. I rolled drivers back to 9.3 and haven't had a crash since. Hopefully, that was the problem.

Is that $10/month forever? I could use one of those . My son got the game for his birthday and loves it.

Started the trial last week as a hobbit minstrel and I am definitely not liking the game. The whole starting area (Michael Delving and such) is such a mishmash of little towns and huts that there is no continuity between quests at all. I'm basically just running around and each town has new quests that are not related at all. I'm level 12 now, and reached an area a level 10 quest told me to go to, that gave me level 7-8 quests. wtf? Friends say this area is really crappy as a starter area, but it's been such a turn off for me I don't think I'm gonna continue.

Hobbits are a nightmare and so is their starting area.

I much prefer the Dwarven starting area of Thorin's Hall. It is a testament that my only two characters to make it past level 10 started in Thorin's Hall.

I hate The Shire. Yes, it's nice and very "book-like" but I can't stand running my characters through there. Breeland and Ered Luin are much better starting areas IMO.

I believe the $10/month lasts until you cancel. If you cancel & re-up then you're back to the $15(?)/month.

You don't like the quests where you deliver mail and pies?

The only time I did those quests is for my melee characters (Champ & Warden) for the Innocence trait.

I have been playing for about 2 months now and well the game isn't bad but it isn't great either. The lack of PvP gets old I think. The PvE content is vast and pretty interesting but it becomes a little bit of a drag to always have to find groups to advance the story. My Loremaster is currently at 35 and is fun to play but the grind is starting to set in. I do like the traits aspect of the game as well as the use your skills to improve them idea.

You can't take your LM out to the Moors yet but you can play as a Creep for your PvP fix.
