where i live in western NY has virtually no chance of earthquakes, forest fires, landslides, hurricanes, tornadoes and flooding. its close enough it might as well be 0%

and where i am doesn't even get that much snow, and i don't consider a blizzard a natural disaster worth worrying about, because at worse its an annoyance, its is not going to remove my house from the planet.

i also don't count meteor impacts

The news just reported the brush fire index at 296, which is the highest number ever. The largest fire has burned over 96,000 acres and wind warnings have been extended into the weekend.

You need to just check traffic reports for the route you are taking. I have not heard about any fires in SD itself.

Just keep an eye on news out of SD. The LA fires should have no effect on yourplans.

That's the funny part, it's not. Way too damn hot. Could not pay me enough to live in a place like that. Maybe a nice vacation destination in winter but would not want to be there in summer.

You get a freak snowfall episode, its so bad the weight of the snow collapses some roofs, there is your natural disaster.

a foot of fresh snow if roughly 5 lbs per SQFT, it would require upwards of 6 feet of snow being parked on a pitched roof to reach the point of stressing the roof.

im not at all even concerned about that happening,

Yes we are. I work in Ventura. It has been a wild ride the past couple of days. I know someone who lost their house. They were told to evacuate at 10:00 at night when the power was out. They tried to pack as best they could by flashlight.

Ventura is fucked

The entire city is under an advisory to boil the tap water before drinking it. I had to shut off our water dispensers and coffee machine. We then went out and bought cases of water so we can give people a bottle of water to drink. We legally have to supply drinking water while they are at work. Of course we just can't put the water out in the break room because people will carry as much as they can out to their car, and then return for the rest. Yesterday the winds changed and started blowing the smoke back on shore and on our building. A couple of the people in accounting were wearing dust masks at their desk. I told my wife that it smells like casinos used to smell like 20 years ago when everyone smoked inside. The winds shifted last night and picked up so they are blowing the smoke away from us. Good for us, but bad for the fire. Fortunately I live in a town 20 miles from here so I can kind of escape the smoke. Although we could see flames from my house last night they looked a lot closer than they are. they were about 10 miles away, but looked like they were on the hill near my town.
