It seems these fires happen every single year, I'm surprised there is even still anything left to burn lol.

But the weather's so nice.
How quickly we forget about grasshoppers and flies in December.Get everything nice and denuded for spring mudslides. Oops... Forgot about the drought. I guess everything is just peachy in paradise. Fuckin' shithole. I'd rather be dead than live in CA :^D
We are fucked no matter what. If we get a lot of rain, too much stuff grows and we have a bad fire season. If we don't get enough rain, everything is too dry and we have a bad fire season.
But...the weather is nice....dammit.While the rest of the country shakes their head and says "no shit. You chose to live there." This is like the north complaining about snow or the south complaining about heat. It happens EVERY SINGLE YEAR in California.

Actually, living on the other side of the coast, what are the "causes" and could something have been done?Entire neighborhoods being wiped out is not news worthy? Man I hope they don't ever show a hurricane or tornado on the news. People chose to live there.

I really have no idea which is why I'm asking. Years past, it was refusal of burns. Surely that's not a problem anymore. So hot winds/dry air?

Best of you to you.The fire conditions are at the highest possible level, this is based on certain things. Humidity in single digits increases the chances, add the wind that pushes flames and you have a recipe for disaster. As for the causes, they say around 95% of the fires are started by people, either on purpose, or accident. People not clearing bushes etc around their homes from fire prone areas is also a concern. I even had an evacuation alert come over my phone from the last round of fires we had not too long ago.
Mine was the opposite...lots of fights and then controlled burns.I thought that they used to do controlled burns to prevent this years ago, but I could be wrong.
i feel bad for those who are effected by this, but part of me finds it humorous that everyone is like "CA is the best place to live" while im sitting here in an area with a 0% chance of a natural disaster destroying my house
0% chance? where you live in a missile silo?
