When I saw Locke's dad, you know what I thought?

"It's a trap!" or a trick or whatever.

But basically my mind flashed into Heroes where that chick can impersonate other individuals... and then I thought "Wait... wrong show..."

I believe the box is a metaphor for the island itself. It seems to manifest things which are the cause of significant drama in the characters' lives. Although I forget what exactly the horse has to do with Kate....

And again I would believe nothing that comes out of Ben's mouth. He is a master manipulator, and that is all we can know for certain. And the Others seem to believe that there exists someone of even greater power than Ben.....

You have to wonder why the Others have gone to so much trouble (losing so many of their own members) to keep things secretive. They are obviously hiding a secret on this island so explosive that they will risk their lives willingly to defend it.

You all said "box"

*snicker*

John is getting less awesome all the time, but he's still more awesome than Jack.

You may have something here. Think about it.. who has been integral to the story with respect to Jack, and Sawyer? Kate.. Remember she was also the one who had a "date" with Ben at the very beginning of the season. In addition, out of all the main female characters who is still alive.. who has yet to get pregnant? Kate... Who insisted that they go back to save Jack... Kate... My theory: it IS all about a magical box.. but its about kate's magical box... We need to learn more about Kate's box...

I agree with some above posters. Lost never shows you something unless it is important. And they made it painfully obvious that Locke was soaking wet when he walked down the pier. He also wasn't in any hurry and looked like he WANTED to be caught. I think he maneuvered the sub out to sea, put it on the bottom, then swam back and blew something else up. Did you see how quickly Locke found the light switch in the sub? He knew what he was doing. Also, did you guys notice the wall of military decorations (unit badges) in his apartment?

edit: here's a poor screen shot pic

um.. would the others look at the remains of the sub?

u cant disenegrate the sub using C4. i mean even if you had a dozen packs of c4 explosives, there will still be remains (ie: hull) that look like a sub.

Locke would have to have found something to blow up that could fool the others it was a sub. hm.. pull out something from the 'black box'

So what was the deal with the fat, fake-bearded guy when he brought Jack to see Kate? He told Jack to "be careful" and then tapped his ear.

I assume that meant that the room was bugged, but by who? Ben? If so, why would Ben's right-hand man warn Jack about Ben listening in on his conversation with Kate? Is he anti-Ben? Is he working with Jack on something? Am I reading too much into something?

Ben basically said not all the people believe and want to stay. That the"illusion" of being able to leave by the sub keeps them in line basically. So not everyone trusts Ben. Obviously Juliet was one of these people that don't trust Ben, and I think the fake-bearded guy is another person who also doesn't trust Ben. I think there will eventually be a "war" between the castaways and those "Others" who don't like Ben, against Ben and his supporters. I also think there are some castaways that either will go over to Ben's side, or are already on his side and we don't know it yet.

"I think it is along the same lines as Jack seeing his Dad, Echo seeing his brother, the white horse, the polar bears, etc etc etc

Another mystery at the end of another episode. Who knew?

I watch this show @ 9 EST... I'll be careful not to spoil it for all of you one of these weeks "

I think there is a boss we haven't seen yet. I'm still not convinced that Ben is the top boss although he is higher up in ranking. My theory on why Locke blew up the sub was to strike the "others" where it counts. I think some are looking too deeply into it. I could see myself doing it also if I seen some group who knows we were crash surviors but still won't help us and screw with us anyways. Some of the "others" have been killed but the survivors saw little reaction other than ones at the Hydra base. Taking out their submarine would be a nice physiological blow to their whole "others" establishment. Just my theory and that's all it is.

I don't know if I'm the only one that's noticed it (I don't think so) but everyone seems to have father issues (except for a few).
Locke, Claire, Hugo, Jack, Walt/Michael, Ben's Daughter/Ben, Sun/Jin/Baby?
There's something there, I just can't put my finger on it.

And wow, I didn't think that about Locke and his military experience... that would definitely add a twist later.
