LMAO @ those pictures on the right.

Wow some people just have way too much time on their hand and way too much of an imagination.

I hate Jack. Absolutely, positively hate him. They have made him into a character that I wish would die every time that I see him.

uhhh... we find out he lost the ability to walk because his "father" pushed him out a window several stories up...

This episode was raw and to the bone, really gritty and one of the best this season. I wonder if the writers are setting up Sawyer to be the new leader of the Losties.

I did enjoy Sawyer giving Cooper the Jabba the Hutt choke....

Yeah, I don't like him so much anymore. I liked him a lot initially, and Locke too. Locke redeemed himself with the tape though. Sawyer is starting to get on my good side too.

Yeah, his character sucks. It's obnoxious how he's decided to trust Juliette over everyone else, but even before that he's been doing stupid stuff for a while now.

I hope Sawyer takes over leadership. At least he knows which side to be on at this point.

Also, after killing the real Sawyer, will James Ford drop the name altogether?

I do too, but since he and Juliette know something that the main camp does not ("we should tell her") - I think he will come out smelling like a rose. He is bothering the crap out of me too though, especially since his allegiance seems to be with Juliette and he probably has no clue she is a mole. If he does know, I hope he gets pwned.

I really too am hating Jack's character ever since he's been captive. He's just a boring tool now.

I'm really REALLY hoping that the writers are going to change this around and somehow write it so that he's actually the one playing Juliette the whole time, but I am not getting my hopes up

I kind of suspect that Jack knows that Juliette is a mole or at least will go renegade on him because that's what the others ALWAYS do. I think he may just be playing her up for the time being.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too...the writers obviously know that the viewers have a growing animosity towards Jack now...

It will be Jack's shining moment if he does get to play that card. He won't "get the girl" though... Kate is taken now and he will have to pwn Juliette to turn the tables. Of course, some hottie could pop out of the woodwork... this is LOST, after all

Did anyone else notice this?:

The girl from the parachute (Naomi?) looked a lot like one of the others that was in a scene talking with Locke at the camp. The ?other? girl had a British accent too (as did the parachute girl).

I couldn?t tell if was the same girl or not. I was thinking that it may have been one of the others that Ben sent in as a contingency plan in case Juliette backstabbed him.
I also think the fact that they hid her from Jack and Juliette as they would have recognized her.

Dude, she had a stick that pierced her lung. No way they did that on purpose.

I dunno ... if she was an other, she knows that the island would heal her quickly. Also she could have done it not expecting any injuries to occur.

Don't want to start a new thread, so I hope someone can help me with this stuff. I don't get to read much on theories of Lost, so I'm hoping to get some feedback on all this:

What were the theories on why that picture on the desk of the head monk guy had the lady in it from Desmond's flashbacks? That struck me as one of the biggest curveballs I've ever seen in the show. To me, she was an indication that the vision Desmond was having was a prediction/dream/falsehood... something in those areas. Does that mean that the flashback Desmond had about meeting his woman and being a monk for a time was fake? Is he imagining the whole thing? Doesn't seem like that's the case given that a woman now landed on the island, and we had that scene from those people that observed the explosion (weren't they in Antarctica?), so Desmond's woman must exist. I just can't figure out why that was in there. Total red herring?

What happened to the numbers? I don't remember them being mentioned at ALL this season, when they seemed to be a critical, uniting issue in previous seasons.

My theory on the communications: the island has a major natural "anomaly" that prevents communication. I believe that the only way communications were possible before were because of that station. When it went down, it no longer provided the ability to get through the Island's "net". So maybe the explosion caused problems with electrical items, but it was the loss of the machine and not the explosion itself that was the real problem. This "net" also masks the island from detection, to an extent, and that mask was ruined, temporarily, by the explosion, which is why Desmond's woman (or at least the people she hired) found him.

As for the religious stuff, just want to add my own thoughts. Many shows have themes that have meaning outside the show. For instance, Chronicles of Narnia has a very religious undertone, but it's a story outside of that. In the same way, I believe that the references to the Island being a "second chance" and possibly "Purgatory" are two things: a red herring, and real lesson/meaning to it all the writers put in there. In other words, when it's all done and it turns out that this is all real, the entirety of the story will be more profound because the characters will have learned something from their existence on the Island. Without the - we'll call them - "spiritual" lessons, they are just happy to be home and continue with their lives. Plus, they're kind of putting in a little meaning to the show's viewers. They've said that it's not Purgatory, so give up on that possibility.

That would mean that the Others have a helicopter (they saw it crash), and Ben couldn't be the only one that knows about it. Juliette clearly doesn't know about the helicopter - she wants to leave, that's not a ruse, and she saw the sub going down as her only way off the island to be gone now - and she was in the inner circle of Others. No way she - of all of them - didn't know about it. There would have to be a heli-pad, so they couldn't easily hide it.

Oh, one more thing I just thought of that completely kills that theory: if they did have a helicopter, then THAT was likely their only other way off the island. Do you think they'd risk that just to mess with the minds of the Tailies? That just doesn't make sense.

Plus, the vision came to Desmond, and without him having the vision - something that the Others couldn't have counted on - they never would have seen her crash.

Let's put this one to rest. She's not a plant, she's who she says she is.

I personally don't think that Jack has suddently b/c a pushover with no common sense. I know he likes Juliette but I still think he has plans. Either that or he knows something that the losties don't and he has totally given up hope.

I'm annoyed with Locke. He seems to think he has a higher calling and doesn't seem to really care about anyone but himself now.

The woman from the camp was the flight attendant. She has an Australian accent. I have seen her from previous episodes. The parachute girl is actually from the show Las Vegas she has a British accent. To me they don't look anything alike.

I think it's very possible that the trust he built for Juliette is real, but I agree with others that it's more likely he's trying to get her to believe that he trusts her, when in reality he doesn't trust her at all.

What's wrong with Locke? Dude couldn't WALK when he came to the island and suddenly he can. He also had his father brought to the island. That's messed up. Imagine being in his shoes - wouldn't you, more than anything, want to know what the big secret is on the island??? Wouldn't that drive you more than anything else?

Did they see the helicopter?? Someone asked that same question during this week's episode, but I think the question wasn't answered.

As I recall it, they heard the helicopter but they didn't see it.

Sure he can. Sawyer's business has been finished. He is probably going to die at the end of this season.

They heard an irregular helicopter rotor, saw a splash out at in the ocean and the helicopter noise suddenly stopped. Too coincidental and too elaborate a ruse.
