I know, let's have another show where a fat funny guy marries a hot thin woman and hilarity will ensue!! I can't wait to see how this season ends.

WAR LOST!

All those ideas, but make them eat worms while covered in spiders and walking on a high tightrope 4tw!!

Jacob = Locke (dark version)

Jacob = Island

Locke = Island

Island is trying to balance it self out.

Thus

Locke=Vader?!?!?!? WHAT?!?!?!?

ok, how about this:

the losties must be in some kind of matrix/virtual reality world experiment

1. richard and all other island natives never age - they are actually VR programs, they are there to influence decisions

2. patches dying and then comes back alive - VR programs cannot die and they can be rebooted

3. polar bear/black smoke - VR programs used to purge bad elements or viruses. why else would there be a polar bear on a tropical island? or black smoke that goes around killing people

4. walt is the neo of this virtual reality world. he has the capability to conjure things out of thin air and make things happen with his mind. how else would a normal human be able to do this in the real world?

5. jacob can/cannot be seen. Jacob is a virtual program. VR programs can run in present or hidden mode.

6. ben is not of the VR world, he is human. he is unpredictable.

7. Darma put their own people in the VR world to test/experiment how humans would co-exist in this world with the programs. VR programs prove to have outsmarted the Darma agents and used one of their own children to destroy the entire human vr experiment subjects.

8. losties are the new group of humans Darma placed in the VR world. they are more unpredictable individuals and are proving to be more of a challenge for the VR programs.

9. VR programs are stealing human pregnant subjects to learn how the reproductive process works. these programs are trying to spawn their own offsprings without success so far.

10. typing in the numbers every 15 minutes is a security measure, kinda like a firewall. now that locke let it blow up, the virtual world's firewall security is down, which makes this world vulnerable to intrusions from other virtual worlds.

11. the reason the island natives (VR programs) know everything about the losties is because each human put inside the VR world experiment has a file in the database. the VR programs somehow has a way to obtain this information from the database.

12. humans can take on new physical and mental forms in the VR world. which is why locke, a cripple in the real world, can walk in the virtual world.

this is my new theory about LOST

Okay I need a recap...

There were originally 2 groups on the Island:

1. The Hostiles (run around with no shoes on)
2. The Dharma people (hippie scientists)

Ben and the Hostiles killed the Dharma people. Now we have 2 new groups:

1. The Others
2. The Survivors

The Island is weird:

1. It heals people
2. There's a floating killer black loud
3. There's some weird magnetic stuff going on
4. There's a giant foot statue with only 4 toes
5. There's a volcano
6. There's something up with the "numbers"
7. Live people see dead people (Jack's dad, Ben's mom, etc.)

The Others have resources:

1. They have detailed information on all of the Survivors
2. They have cameras...everywhere (remember Juliette's sister?)
3. They are hiding the other survivors they took somewhere

Some other interesting and weird points:

1. Dharma is still dropping supplies
2. Walt has powers
3. The Island is hidden and is difficult to get to
4. The Others are not indestructible
5. Richard (the guy who hired Juliette) doesn't age

hey, that's pretty interesting! that could explain why Walt had powers...his imagination was more open. BUT, he had weird "powers" before he came to the island...

which is why I explained he is the neo of this world.

in matrix, not all humans have the abilities like neo, neo was special.

walt is also special

Oh I see that now, totally missed it. That theory fits the best I've heard so far! Maybe you've cracked the code Who wants to bet that the Lost writers are in a panic and sit around every day reading theories off of forums to get ideas?

Walt did not have special powers. The others thought Walt was "the one" but they were mistaken...that's why they let him go...do you think they would have really let Walt go if he was the one they are waiting for?...they are still searching hoping it's Locke...

Maybe others/hostiles think anyone who can see dead people are special. Ben, Walt, Locke...they don't know that Jack and Echo also saw dead people.....

I still think the island might be purgatory and people that have been there long enough knows it and are trying to leave purgatory....but whatever...who knows...we'll soon find out...

I just thought of something....if all planes crash when it's near the island....how do the food drops get in from the air?...I thought the only way IN was underwater...

That's a very good point. The food DID get dropped right? I can't remember if it just fell from a tree that it was caught in or if it was dropped. And anyway, food did get dropped in the past, so you have a valid point. Haha, I love this show!

not to add to your tinfoil suit... but when Ben and Locke were getting ready to go into that room, I was totally waiting for something like a scene from the matrix where Neo goes into the architects room

There might be a beacon in one of the hatches still doing something. That is why the food drops.

I'm starting to think that the island is real, in the every day world. However it's protected by a field, maybe magnetic that makes all aircraft instruments or any navagational instruments usless. I do remember Ben saying that they can leave but can't come back since they can't follow the beacon back.

When they were told that the plane was found with the bodies etc. I thought purgatory as someone already mentioned but I was thinking purgatory or they are all hooked up to machines someplace the very first few shows.

Purgatory would explain why no children allowed.
People killed in purgatory either goto hell or heaven depending on the state of their souls when they died during their second chance in purgatory.

The strange happenings on the island can be explained by purgatory making real peoples most powerful fears/wishes.

Those allowed to leave the island are people that wake up from commas in the real world and have not died at all.

The black cloud can be a manifestation of one of the islands "others" fears.

The hostiles can be explained as residents resigned to living on the island that realize what it is and are not ready to move on to heaven and choose to remain so they don't age.

People with "powers" are people that are closer to leaving the island in terms of the purity of their souls.

Everyone on the island experiences excellerated healing so it is not a power but a condition of being in purgatory.

Purgatory is not meant to be paradise like heaven but a place of trials and tribulations meant to further test ones soul winnowing out those that deserve heaven.

Ben's ability to speak to Jacob is likely no more than the other manifestations people created. When Locke actually heard ben's imaginary friend Ben realized that Locke was more special than himself and got jelous.

Locke is very unlikely to die at this point in the show IMO and in my theory if he did die right now he would goto heaven.

Now I am not saying in the least that this is all correct it is just a guess and likely wrong. It only helps explain things for the time being.

The people that magically appear like Lockes father IMO were not wisked away to the island but they actually died in the real world and hence show up on the island with the people that need to see them the most that they need to resolve things with to move on to heaven or hell, etc.

Locke hasn't died yet.

Knew someone would correct me on that. Not dead yet, but he sure looked deathly when his eyes froze up.

In an interview with Michael Emerson (Ben), he said that Locke has a pre-existing medical condition in his favor ...and that he (Locke) gave up something long ago that may help him now.

This leads me to believe that Locke was shot in the area of where his kidney used to be. No major organ there to damage = LOCKE LIVES!!

and locke will be pissed at ben. my guess is locke knows the way back to jacob so he will fool with that ring of stuff surrounding the house.

Purgatory would explain why no children allowed.

What about Walt? Also weren't there some other children shown running around barefoot with the Hostiles/Others a season or two ago? They took a few of the survivors with children too. Also Claire had a baby on the island. Plus the Dharma people had kids on the island (Ben himself was just a child when he first arrived on the island).

The hostiles can be explained as residents resigned to living on the island that realize what it is and are not ready to move on to heaven and choose to remain so they don't age.

But, Richard Alpert recruited Juliet to work on the island, so that doesn't make sense. He was able to go off of the island and into the "real world", then come back again.

I don't think they are dead. I think that the island has some special properties that Dharma was trying to get a handle on and that the island is just difficult to get to and also hidden from the outside world. I was poking around the Lostpedia and found an article about the Life Extension Project - worth a read if you have a minute.
