So I thought it was odd in the middle when he was using a Razr phone... then when I saw the maps I started to think it was a flash forward (hence the title of the episode, through the looking glass). I can't figure out the dad thing though

Well, considering that Kate and Jack met at the Los Angelos airport and he talked about traveling and wanting the plane crash so that he could go back to the island. I think that makes it definate flash-forward but there are some quirks in the story that makes anything possible.

However to me the name looks like Johnathan (Unless they are using a full name, then the first name starts with J and the last name ends in -than or something that looks alot like those letters). Locke Perhaps? Make sense since he would have no family that would come and see him.
