Not to mention in my dreams that night.remember she hooked up with Sawyer in the flash sideways.
I was actually happy to see this episode as I was curious about Richard. Now I know more specifically, not just assumptions and it all makes sense. Now I'm curious about a couple things: a)where'd the statue come from b)how Jacob trapped MIB on the island and 'took away' his body.
Not sure what you mean by "took away" his [MIB] body? I thought the body he had before taking over Locke's body was his original body [or did my failing memory forget that part?].
I really never thought of Walt as someone being special...I don't know why people think he is? I've always thought of him as a child who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time [including Claire's baby] - did they ever really explain why the "others" wanted to keep/kidnap children?
/shrug
X-Files was a very popular tv show and it didn't explain a lot of things - I suspect LOST will do the same - hell, I wouldn't be surprised if the show ends with a lot of unanswered questions [jacob, MIB, the island, etc]...
Back in Australia, didn't a psychic basically say Aaron was the antichrist?
"They" who? How can you arbitrarily say that the point of the show is to "figure out what the island really is"? If the answer to that also explains all the other weirdness surrounding the characters, I'm on board with you.
Otherwise, what was the point of emphasizing how special Walt was? The numbers? Widmore's real motivations and how he returned to the island? The psychic "powers" of Hurley and Miles? (We're really just supposed to accept that, oh, these guys can talk to dead people?) The time travel business? How exactly the Jacob/MiB struggle tied in with the Dharma Initiative and what they were doing on the island? What's up with the polar bears? How Eloise became so knowledgeable, took over The Lamp Post facility, and got Locke's suicide note? Why Faraday's last name is different from both of his parents'? What Aaron's place is in all of this? What the whispers are? Etc., etc. etc.
If it's all just to contribute to a sense of mystical importance, I'll be pissed. I just don't buy the argument that all the unexplained side plots are only valuable in driving the characters toward revealing the truth about "the island". If so many things happen without explanation and for no apparent reason, that's pretty poor writing. It's not at all the same thing as being "open-ended".
If viewers were supposed to just switch off the ol' brain and go for the ride, the writers needn't have included so many confusing events, nor clues that can only be gleaned from pouring over freeze frames and repeat viewings. This whole show is about details, and some longtime fans are naturally upset if it seems the writers no longer seem to care about the seeds they've planted throughout the last six years. The reactions you're seeing aren't "taking it too seriously"; it's just the result of the disappointing realization that Lost is actually "just a TV show" and not the slightly more special experience it pretended to be.

Maybe we should just save the bitching until after the final episode when we will know what exactly they/have not told us.
KT
"They" being the people on the island. That is really what this story is all about, at least from what I can tell. The island is the main character. But KeithT is right, what's the point in complaining about what they have/haven't shown when they still have plenty of time to show... whatever it is they intend to show! Until next week...
Maybe Walt and/or Aaron just returned to the island with Widmore?

btw she has a Kate thing going on here

Uh oh. Not another Sandra Bullock hotness type thread...i'll take this thread in a new direction.
FOR THE LAST GODDAMNED TIME, SHE IS NOT FUCKING HOT.
damn, what is ATOT's fascination with this 100% average woman? every other woman on the show makes her look like the ugly redheaded stepchild that she is. damn gingers.
Some of you are placing far too much importance on Walt. The others thought he was a good kid with potential, so they wanted him to join their society, just like those other Flight 815 passengers they assimilated. If it was any more than that they wouldn't have traded him off so easily and let him leave the island. Walt doesnt need any further explanation.
And i agree Charlotte is not hot.
Sorry. I meant Charlotte.
Look, I don't consider Charlotte hot. I consider her maybe a little above average but I would still f*ck the shit out of her. ATOT, do not confuse the two categories of "hot" and "would f*ck". They are not the same thing.
Obviously the "spirits" aren't limited to where they died. How else would Hurley have seen Charlie in the psychiatric ward?how is Isabella on the island?!
was her body on the Black Rock ship?!
