I was traveling 2 weeks ago when my bag that was intended to be carried on board was asked to be checked at the gate and then lost upon my arrival at my final destination. It's been the most ridiculously obnoxious process, trying to deal with the airline and its baggage staff that have clearly stopped caring about finding my bag.
I'm trying to file for compensation of the contents in the bag, and was wondering if anyone has gone through this before and could offer some advice as to how much detail (and how much truth-stretching) should go into this claim. Do they usually compensate you for the amount that you report? Or do they tend to undercompensate regardless of the reported price of your items? Heh one of the baggage service people at the airport felt so bad for me she told me to "claim the hell outta that bag!" That's what I hope to do
