I installed Win2K two days ago and had everything working fine. Then I installed a few new programs, I am not sure which ones exactly in what order, but it included Adaptec Easy CD writer and Adaptec Direct CD, and now I cannot get attached to either my DVD drive or my HP CD rewriter. I have uninstalled all the Adaptec software, uninstalled MS Media Player 7 due to the Adaptec part of it, uninstalled drives in hardware manager and had it redetect them, all to no avail. Win2K sees the drives but says "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. Code 31." I have also installed and uninstalled the Intel UDMA drivers for the Asus CUS2L motherboard (815E chipset) that I have. I have tried the troubleshooting they recommeded and still no drives. The drives are detected fine in WinME on the same system. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
