51 and as all too common overweight and a smoker. I had been on him about the smoking for years but could never get him to quit.

My sisters are heavy heavy smokers since they were teens. It is not going to end well for them. One is overweight the other is normal weight like me. Nothing I say can convince them to stop. Sorry for your loss.

Divorced, no kids. Mom 83 still alive with dementia just starting. That is what we were talking about Friday that ended up in a disagreement. It wasn't a big thing, just wish that my last conversation with my brother had been a pleasant one but that is life I guess.

My big bro is 6 years older than me, but no matter how hard he tries, I never feel close to him. Shit, I feel closer to my employees than my brother (same dad and mom. yes my parents have been together for 40+ years). I don't know if it's just my personality or that we just didn't grow up together. Shit, I don't even feel close to my parents.

I feel you there. I think im closer with my in-laws than my own family. Things were always good growing up. Never got close to my dad since he worked a lot (on alert and TDY alot). Mom has had big medical problems since i was 6, then went to college when she was doing mostly better and got a full time job. Sister got pregnet when she was 15 (i was 13). I just shut my self into my own world while everyone did their thing.
