Lost my XP Task Manager

I'm trying to recover from some kind of worm/virus. Using MSCONFIG, I spotted these 3 strange routines:

Wingkf
Winktrj
Winkwhs

I unchecked them as services and my system is back up to speed from its previously sluggish performance.

Unfortunately, CTRL ALT DEL no longer brings up the task manager.

Prior to this, Task Manager would stay onscreen for about 10 seconds then disappear. The green box would linger in the system tray until I put my mouse cursor on it, and then it would disappear. Now I don't even have that.

Anyone know a fix for this madness????

Does anyone know where Task Manager resides or what its filename is??

Is there is an easy way to get taskmanager reinstalled off the XP disk? It's not like 95/98.

well, technically if the file is not there than you could have a serious problem, it is a file that SFC (System File Checker) should replace if it is missing. I was playing around with where you could find it and I did find the taskmgr.exe program, it is in the i386 directory of the XP install CD named "TASKMGR.EX_" pulling that into your system32 folder and renaming it to "taskmgr.exe" should give it back to you.
