I lost one of the rubber feet on the bottom of my Dell e1705 laptop. This meant that the laptop was unstable when typing. After 28 minutes on the phone with Dell, I got charged $18 for the replacement part. Man, I am going to have to remember to superglue those feet in there!

Yea, no kidding... I'd glue a pencil to the bottom before I payed $18 for a small piece of rubber.

It might be easier, but it could be worse for the laptop. The rubber feet might elevate it enough for any vents on the bottom to properly pull air in.

My HP feet (pack of 6) are 72$ shipped. Worse off without them the laptop easily overheats as they're the only thing that elevate it enough to breath. So i ended up going to home depot, and getting some sticky sided silicone dots . Like 5$ for a 24 pack. I just put them on there. Sometimes on hot summer days when it's running it'll melt them off when I stick it back into the bookbag. So I just put more on .

Lowes , Home depot . Radio Shack? , and most electronic stores I've been in have various size rubber / silicone standoffs for electronics that have adhesive on one end. They can be cut to fit almost anywhere.

There's a couple guys on ebay that sell all sorts of OEM laptop feet, to the tune of $1-$2 each.
