That was the best part!! As the movie ended, the folks who don't read books or know anything about the next two releases plan all go, "whaaaaaaaaat??????" Me and my friends cracked up! Almost as good as the whole audience simultaneously going, "eeeeeewwwww" when the lead orc's head got cut off.

I will never understand how people going to see this movie don't know that it's a 3 part story.Even if you never read the book how could you have missed the 2 years of hype?My favorite moments came from the gum-snapping bimbo behind me that said"What the hell was that"That's the stupidest thing i've ever seen"At the top of here lungs when the movie ended.Apparently all 5 of the other people in her party knew it was the first of 3,but somehow she missed that.
She's also the braintrust that when Sam and Frodo are having the tearfull moment in the boat at the end and you see Sam's deep commitment and friendship started giggling and said"ARE THEY GONNA DO IT"?!!!Why do i ever go to the theater anymore.:disgust:

well, I loved both the movie and the books. This is very surprising because I usually dislike fantasy stuff like D&D, or games like Everquest or Asheron's Call. But I dont know, for some reason I find LOTR very compelling. Maybe its because I started reading it at the urging of a very hot girl.
