P.S.
These sword are not sharp. However, it will still hurt like hell to be konked over the head with one. It may be ok to make fun of people who collect "dress weapons" while you are safely hiding behind your computer. Just don't do it if you ever see a collector live and in person!

nah....I'll do it in person too. My neighbor when I was growing up would walk around with a sword and we'd laugh at him so much he finally got the idea that carrying around fake weapons was not any way to advance his social status.

He finally got the message when he got a ticket for carrying a long sword in a public place heheheh

So what do you collect? If I had the money(plenty of money but not for this type of hobby) I would collect this type of stuff. And yes I am engaged and I will reproduce. You just get a thrill out of trying to put people down to make yourself feel better.

I collect guitars, but that's besides the point. If I walk out of the house with a guitar, I'm not going to be laughed and gawked at by people.

Forgive an ingorant question from a noob here but why have these rules posted if they arent followed.

Q]No thread crapping. If the subject matter of a deal does not interest you, do not post negative comments about it, or about other members, in the thread.[/quote]

and

Stick to discussing the deal. Do not post needless rude or trivial comments about someone else's posts. Flaming can only hurt someone's feelings.

And the last one seems to be lacking from some of you.

Think before you post.

None of the negativity here is allowed by the rules here and yet it looks as if I can get my number of posts up it will be ok to do so. I was told this was a great site. I hope this isnt what it is all about. So much for the first impression.

I also think that it is a very elegant and stylish sword. More than I would pay for a replica though. Good Post DangerBoy!

And I think that Chondropython should be made an anandtech moderator as he (or she) seems to have more of a grasp of the forum rules than most. Pretty sad considering the post counts of our more rude patrons who should know better. And Btw rude patrons notwithstanding - it still is a cool site/forum Chondropython and DangerBoy as well, never let the negativity of others dissuade you from using this forum to your heart's content. Even at its worst, this forum is really a wealth of information.

Not for your guitar at least. You all are calling people who collect swords geeks, yet look at the site you are posting on. Time to wake up and smell the coffee, you are an official member of the geek class.

P.S. and yes i do count myself a member

Everyone's got their own things they collect. I personally wouldn't spend that much on a sword, but whatever. I don't think it's stupid. Just don't make a video of yourself with it.

Just curious how posting on a hot deals forum makes you a geek. Those would be the people over in the "Overclocking" forum. "Cheap and frugal" would be a more accurate term for us here

I do get alot of good deals off this site, but also alot of entertainment off reading crazy replies. IMO its ok to have fun, and yes its strange to walk around with swords. I collect blow up dolls but would it be ok for me to walk around with one? (j/k)

Man if I was going to spend money on a sword it'd be a decent katana...
Apparently katana's are illegal in Japan...but Yakuza members still have them. According to some random website I found searching for katanas on google. lol

Recondition this sword here: mmm deadly blade and I have my doubts that anybody will laugh =P
Or even: this one

Of course then you'd have to learn how to use it without killing yourself or getting arrested by the police for publicly carrying one of these.

If you actually got good at using a katana you could do some pretttttyyy neat things...

This appears to be a decent sword and certainly a collectible, at a good price? I wouldn't know. But if your hobby is so serious that you can't laugh at yourself from time to time...well start laughing. It makes it more fun. And we are all geeks here. It's ok tp be a geek and I will defend anyone's right to be a geek. I'm gonna get me a sword too. The anti anti-geek sword. Maybe with led's and cooling fans.
