are you the guy who keeps mentioning that concept on every car thread? if mitsubishi makes that twin engine eclipse concept, i'm pretty sure it'd blow a corvette away too. wake up and smell the coffee: it's a damn concept. if it's so damn godly they can just make it and slap a merc badge on it.

I'm sure he was talking about the Carrera GT without seeing the episode. Jeremy Clarkson hates everything Porsche and will always go for a punchline one one.......................In reguards to the Veyron hitting 200 first: Big F-N Deal.....For probably 50k or less you could make a dragster muscle car with comparible handling. The Veyron is a boat. The Carrera GT would smoke a Veyron around the ring or any other worldclass track.

I don't think many of they Veyrons are actually going to see any track days, so the point is moot.

How many of the road going CLK-GTRs have actually been raced on a track? Fair enough, you wouldn't want to race a limited edition, but the car also costs ~1,500,000 USD, IIRC.

If I had one, you can damn well bet it'd see the track. I don't care how "limited edition" a car is - it was built to be driven. Fast. It will be driven. Fast.

Anybody wonder why nobody has done a real road test on this car yet?

Bugatti wont let them compare it to other exotics such as the Zonda, Carrera GT or Enzo around a road course. Because it will get it's ass handed to it. And that's a big embarassment for million dollar car.

Yea they used the Rover K-series engine in EU. Since Rover went bust though, aren't they using the toyota 1.8 in all the cars?

It's a better engine anyway. I guess they just wanted to use a British one for patriotic reasons. That would explain all the old Chevy motors still being put in new cars too.

Correct, the Toyota/Yamaha 2zz-ge is now the standard engine.

You might point out at this juncture that the McLaren F1 could top 240mph, but at that speed it was pretty much out of control. And anyway it really isn?t in the same league as the Bugatti. In a drag race you could let the McLaren get to 120mph before setting off in the Veyron. And you?d still get to 200mph first. The Bugatti is way, way faster than anything else the roads have seen.
