Loud PSU

I recently built a AMD 64 system useing an Antec SLK3700AMB case with an Antec 350w power supply in it. The first few weeks it was real quiet ( much more so than any other PC I ever owned ) but within the last few days the power supply fan has became really loud. I can place my hand over the PSU fan in the rear of the case and drown out almost all of the noise from the PC. I am not sure if its a problem with the PSU, or if its ramped up for some reason? I was thinking of buying a Seasonic super sliencer 400w to replace it, but if I can quiet it for free then I can use the $100.00 towards something else.

Consider taking the power supply back. If youre computer conditions have not changed, like you are not using it any more than you did, then it shouldnt really ramp itself up like that. I would take it back and ask for a refund, then get the seasonic

I put a Zalman 400w in mine when the PSU fan went bad 3-4 months ago (after a year and a half so I can't really complain) and it's whisper-quiet.

If you can, trying to get some credit for your defective PSU to buy something better makes sense, but if not they should at least give you another Antec 350w that will last at least a year or two.

I still like this case for building with, especially for a system with a lot of drives.

I ordered the case from Newegg. I would hate to have to take apart the PC , sned it back, wait for a replacement, ect.. I figured if there was a way to ramp down the fan I would try that first. If not I will just buy another and take the loss.

This Should Solve your Probelm (It's Like a Toyota, Very Quiet and Reilable) and stay away from enermax they are just as bad as over priced rebadged PSU's from an unknown make.
