As is often the case, you are posting in your trademark manly simpleton manner about something you literally have zero experience with.

Please stand still while I shovel some snow on you.

I have plenty of experience with parking spots and snow, etc.

Unless you have an assigned parking spot, it's not yours to claim.

Did you own the parking spot?

The way I see it - if you own a house, the parking spots on the road in front of your house are yours to use as you need.

Wrong. You do not own the street in front of your house.

Streets are public in this country. Welcome to America!

True, but where normal people live they don't just park in front of other people's houses.

I don't know what shithole you live in with shitty neighbors but count me out of it.

I live in a city.

If by "the" city you mean Boston then no, I haven't and wouldn't care to ever live there.

Live in a three decker, six people live in the house and all have cars. The houses in the area have no driveways and the house is only two car lengths wide. Where does everyone park?

Every city has these types of scenarios. NYC, Chicago, Miami, SF, LA, etc...

Sounds like apartments, not a house. I am past the point of my life where I would live in an apartment.

I wouldn't live in an area like that. If you do then that's your problem and then you get to deal with these parking issues I guess.

I prefer to have my own space which includes a garage as well as plenty of room on the street for me to park a third vehicle.

Condos and rowhouses are not apartments. Sounds like you don't live in a city. Seriously, stop posting in threads you know nothing about, stop trolling.

Yes, Commonwealth Ave in Boston with it's multi-million dollar rowhouses is a shithole.

Trust me, I would too... in a location where it never snows or gets below freezing.

Usually it's not so bad, this was just a real hard winter with a lot of snow and it's just getting people on edge

Good for you.

But why do you feel the need to be such a Dick about it?

There are condos here, but I just wouldn't live in them. But then again they have dedicated parking either garages (attached or detached) or assigned parking spaces (covered and non covered).

Why buy a house that has no dedicated parking?

I understand the rant, but classifying a whole group of people as bastards is a bit much.

From the tone of your description, you're no better.

I guess my point is - don't buy or live in a place that has no place to park your car if you own a car, and if you do, then don't bitch and whine about it on a forum.

Location. Trade-off for affordability. Welcome to the city.

They have every right to bitch and whine about it.

Just like you have every right to come in here and be a jackass.

Great pilot episode, I hope it get's picked up by one of the networks!

Good luck with that. Luckily the subdivision I live in, everyone has driveways and garages so I don't have to deal with it. However, a lot of other areas around here don't and everyone I know that lives in those areas has problems with neighbors parking in front of their place. One friend always has a guy from the other side of the street parking in front of his house because apparently he has to go that direction in the morning for work and can't be bothered to do a U-turn (it's a smallish town and the road isn't that busy) or go around the block (he lives right on the corner.)

If not, then what the fuck you're an asshole.

All this bullshit parking spot claiming crap is just stupid.

The way I see it - if you own a house, the parking spots on the road in front of your house are yours to use as you need.

In some backasswards place where the roads are not large enough to have people park on both sides, I simply wouldn't buy a house there.

that's precious! I'm the asshole, but the lazy fatass who would run out the minute I left and just drive over the snow from his uncleared spot into my cleared spot, then run back in his house is ok. At least I resisted the temptation to do more damage to his car. After a couple times, I caught him doing this, and let him know that next time there might be crazy glue along his door seams instead of just water

If you can't afford a place which allows you to park your cars in a garage and you're done with college, something is wrong. If you have to trade things like a garage and places to park and having a building just to yourself just so you can live in a particular city, perhaps you should live in a different city.
