I am building my next rig with an i5-750, and am trying to decide on a motherboard. After a while of reading reviews, I had decided on a p55 board, and the Gigabyte P55M-UD2 falls right into the price range and feature set I'm looking for.
But, reading Anandtech's latest budget building guide, they are recommending an H55 board (the ASRock H55M-Pro) along with a Radeon 4850 video card. I thought the main reason to buy H55 was to take advantage of the Clarksdale integrated graphics? Is this recommendation just on the very minor price difference (currently $2.50 on NewEgg) or is there a performance advantage to the H55 set?
To give an idea of what I need, I will be doing modest air overclocking and 0 gaming (I will be using a single Radeon 4550 card). Any thoughts on the subject?
