Greenman knows that I’m pretty much a single issue voter. I became a Democrat all those years go because of their support for America’s union workers. I’m also supporter of the Dem’s stance that women (and only women) should have the right to decide if they want an abortion…and I support the idea of single payer healthcare…maybe Medicare for All…Do single issue voters fall into the low information voter hate fest?
BUT, I’m also conservative on a lot of issues…maybe more-so than many actual Republicans. In spite of my many felony convictions as a yout, I’m VERY much a law and order guy, and a staunch supporter of the idea that we lock down our borders…and round up all the illegal immigrants in the country and send them home. (establishing a well run guest worker program for ag workers is a necessity)
Still, since I first became eligible to vote in 1972, (had to vote by absentee ballot because I was out of the country) I have only voted for the Democratic candidate for all offices…except for Obama’s 2008 election…I voted 3rd party that year because Chicago politicians are notoriously corrupt…he proved me wrong nd I voted for him in 2012.
I firmly believe that the Democratic party represents (or wants to represent) ALL Americans…unlike the Republican party just wants to represent rich Americans.
