Im going to say lower resolution with higher settings but I was just wondering what everyone else thinks. I just built a new machine and although these 7800GT's are some pretty decent cards, when trying to run at a 1920x1200 native resolution you sometimes have to sacrifice some performance settings if you want those higher resolutions. Usually though I just crank the resolution down to about 1280x1024 so I can still keep most, if not all settings at max. Some people can play with a low framerate but I gotta have AT LEAST 40FPS or I get really annoyed.
I typically play FPS games and notice that the framerate in most games becomes choppy when you "circle strafe" more than any other time (aside of course from intense battle scenes).
So what do you prefer? Lower resolution and higher settings or higher settings and lower resolutions?
Just curious.
