LSI SCSI card $179 vs. Adaptec 19160 for $185?

The LSI card HERE Does not come with an LVD cable. But, I would trust the source... The adaptec card HERE from Hyper Microsystems has all cable and terminators- and perhaps the better card?

If anyone can help me out, I would appreciate the input.

There is a BIG difference between those cards... The LSI you pointed out is a dual-channel card while the Adaptec is more an entry level SCSI card... Someone else should explain the Adaptec card as I am not that familiar with it... It really depends on what your needs are, but if you are looking for a SCSI adapter for a more typical system I would recommend the Tekram 390U3W card that includes cables and terminator for $185 at hypermicro.

storagereview did a comparison between the Tekram DC390U3W and the Adaptec 29160 and they were very close in benchmarks, but the Tekram was significantly cheaper. I have one and I am quite happy with it.

The only specs on my Soyo board tell me it is PCI Slot 2.2 volt compliant. The Tekram card needs a 64 bit slot (which I do not have) or a 32 bit 5Volt slot (which I am not sure if I have? Is 5 volt the standard for PCI?

I am liking the look of the Tekram. Thanks for the heads up. I am a bit worried that my 32 bit PCI slot is not a 5volt? All that I can find on the spec sheet is 2.2 volt compliant? Anybody know if Soyo Dragon Ultra will support a 5V PCI card?

I am pretty sure it will, but i dont want to be surprised. RMAing is always a pain in the rear!
