I worked 40+ hours a week and went to school full time. Now that school is done I have a lot of free time. I'm sure a lot of you have a lot of free time since you are on this forum. Something away from the computer. Can you think of any?

I'm trying to learn the guitar. Although not exactly "away from the computer" since many of my training & reference materials are online or on my PC.

Another would be geocaching..but that to requires *some* PC time to get coordinates.

there is always some initial investment with things...either capital for learning how to be a photographer or a musician...

you could be a hitman

Making porn. (and then selling it).

EDIT: Forex trading can be lucrative, assuming you have some startup money, and you don't suck at it.

Lucrative as in make money? Hobbies cost money, they don't bring it in!

Hehe, lot's of constructive ideas here... while hitman and porn I'm sure were high on the OP's list I like carpentry/woodworking and photography as possible lucrative ideas.

sorry bad reading comp...most hobbies aren't lucrative though. At the minimum it would require initial investment before you acquired a skill set that you could possibly sell.

One thing that I always thought would be cool to do is make your own kayaks/canoes. Basicaly taking a giant hunk of wood and carving it all the way down to a boat.

And microwaving cats. For profit. And fun.

That is not necessarily true. I still love building cars. So much so it really doesn't matter which or whose car I am working on. I do lots of work for friends and it completely supports me building my cars because I don't really spend any money anymore as I get parts and supplies in return.

Vegetable garden. Fresh tomatoes right off the vine. Make your own spaghetti sauce and learn to properly can it. Good for you, saves your wallet after the initial investment, and you might be able to sell some of it.

I took up golf. I enjoy it a lot. It's gets me away from the PC and outdoors. If you are good, then you can make money at it. I think I saw a thread here on ATOT where Tiger Woods made almost $100 million last year.
