Either 3 of today's 8 spots were won between folks here and on chubby wallet, or the three that
got to the screen where they entered phone numbers are runners up to people who entered a
credit card number (in case the credit card authorization doesn't go through -- as referenced in
the rules). Somehow I think it is the latter. Others got "page not found" or "closed for today"
messages or just failed in the tests.

If you win I would say it is very hot. Assuming system is worth $1K and trip is worth $1K (depends where you come from), and get it for $640, that is pretty hot. They claim the package is worth close to $5K which I don't believe, but I could see $2K.

No one mentioned providing a CC number. Sounds like the folks that got the screen for phone number
info (many of us passed the test and then got Page Not Found error) may be alternates in case a CC
order doesn't go through. Just guessing though. No one has reported winning, but 3 people between
here and FW reported giving contact info. 3 out of 8 slots seems very high unless they are alternates.

I signed up yesterday and never got any email notifications stating when the vault would be open. This morning I find that it has already been closed, and again no email notification.

Knowing that the winner has to pay $640 to "win" the prize, I think this AMD contest is pretty lame. In addition to the money, you also have to leave from work or from school to San Francisco for a couple of days. How much is 64*$640 anyway? Why doesn't AMD give them out for free? They can afford that for sure.

It makes sense for them to ask people to leave town for a couple of days if they are giving the machines out for free. But $640 plus some precious time? I would not consider that a prize.

It is hot to those with a lot of free time and are planning to buy a computer.

Well, it comes with a motherboard and Ram also so it isn't too bad of a deal. Plus, I really doubt that in six months this CPU will be less than $100.
