I just built a full computer for less than that.
And upgraded my main rig to 64 gb G.Skill SSD ($135 one) while on it.

Yeah, well not going to get into a debate I hope. It is what it is and I am sure you have heard the debates before about the differences of your ssd and this one. For those of you looking for this ssd, it has this small discount not including possible cash back.

I love how the price on this just keeps coming down steadily. (Just a few days ago, we were all cheering about it reaching the $400 mark.)

Looks like they just dropped it down to $369.99.

Getting closer and closer to my magic number ($300) ...

wow SLC for only 420? that's amazing! for me to go SSD, I'd only go with the SLC's. Those are as fast as RAM, looking at benchmarks. are there any space converters/adapters that will slide this into a 3.5" space?

Wait - why are these Intel SSD's so expensive? Not treadcrapping, just curious why something like OCZ or GSkill is a lot cheaper. Can anyone point me to a thread/site that shows why the Intel ones are better? Thanks

I have to ask, what would you use a 32 GB drive for? Don't you need a 40 GB hard drive just to install Vista?

No, I think my Vista x64 Ultimate SP1 takes up around 20GB.

Right, but the recommended system requirements for Vista are 40 GB with 15 GB available.

Seems to me that any drive you're going to run an OS and a couple of apps on only makes sense at around the 40 GB level.

True, you'd probably not get very far with it if it was your only drive. But, a nice speedy 30gb OS drive would be great along with your previous primary drive for whatever doesn't fit.

I was stupid enough to make my Vista partition 100GB. I only have around 30GB free, and that's with relatively few programs installed, just Prey/Half-Life 2 games, Visual Studio 2008 and a bunch of smaller programs that probably do not even add up to 5GB. I have no idea where all the space went.

The general idea is to use one of these fast 32GB SSDs for the OS and maybe 1-2 of your most commonly used applications, and install everything else and keep data on a second larger drive.
