It was in the emergency room so it was an ER doc.

i had mine in an ER. my dad said it was fine to let some newbie do it while the ER doc supervised (family friend). newbie missed twice and finally the ER doc did it. it hurt like hell but at that point i didnt care much as the drugs had started to kick in

I went to the ER around 9:30PM Thursday night, spent about 10 hours there (had the lumbar puncture about 6 hours in), then admitted to the hospital, then discharged today around 2:00.

Didn't have any headaches until earlier today. Seems to be much better now.

I don't know how comfortable I would have been having some newbie handling it.
