We won't know that for at least another month. However, if you glanced at the specs on Nokia's website, it doesn't show any CDMA compatibility with Sprint/Verizon. It only shows WCDMA which isn't used by those carriers. Sure, the device will have LTE, but without CDMA built-in, it won't be released on those carriers.

LTE only if they're coming to the US carriers...

Now everyone wants Android or an iPhone.

Niche markets aren't so bad. As long as nobody's losing a ton of money and there's still some consumer interest, it wouldn't hurt to keep WP going.

Granted, Nokia's stock will need to come back up a bit.

It's just a shame that low popularity is so easily equated to low quality. Especially within recent years.

That doesn't make any sense to me. Verizon still uses their 3G bands which are CDMA. While LTE is rolled out to a good portion, an LTE only device doesn't really make sense at this time. I could be wrong in that assumption, but I feel as though next year is when we'll see LTE only devices. I did notice, however, that the device did support a certain VZW/Sprint LTE band, but once again, without CDMA, I don't see them releasing it.

All the phone calls still roll over the CDMA network on both carriers. Maybe next year when VoLTE is rolling out, VZW and Sprint fans...

I think it's more like

If Tmobile gets the 920 I'll bite.
If Tmobile gets the IP5 I'll bite.

They will probably get neither and I'll be stuck with the GS3, meh

I'll probably never get a Windows phone but I definitely like the look of it and some things it brings to the table hardware wise. We need more phones with wireless charging and being able to use the screen with gloves on is cool even though I'd never use it as it doesn't get cold enough for gloves here.

It's too bad they didn't announce a date for this. From the hands on previews though it sounds like they have a bit of work to do still since the camera wasn't even available for use yet. I'm thinking I'll pick this up when it comes out, if the display technology and camera are really as good as they say it'll be a pretty awesome phone.

Here's hoping for T-mobile AWS support.

Does not have the 1700 band I would have really thought to switch if I could have used this on Tmo's $30 prepaid plan.

This image by Anand is striking:

I think it's funny how some are viewing the only 8 MP camera as a letdown, but those are some very nice images coming out with the hardware image stabilization and the larger sensor.

Plus, I think that more sensitive touchscreen can be a game changing feature. I still want to use my nail on capacitive touchscreens and wearing gloves while doing simple operations is a pretty big deal. I'm glad it's in both of the phones too.

Does it have LTE? Is it coming to the largest carrier in the US?

Yes, you can see it's connected to an LTE network in the video (not a full upload though, someone captured the now-down webcast and partially uploaded to Youtube)

It uses the Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 SoC which includes the following radios:

BT 4.0, 802.11a/b/g/n (2.4/5 GHz), World Mode (LTE FDD/TDD CAT3, SVLTE-DB, TD-SCDMA, Rel9 DC-HSPA+, GSM/GPRS/EDGE, EGAL, 1x Adv., 1x EV-DO Rev. A/B)

Release date please. This thing looks better than I expected.
It's probably going to be around very late October to early November. The Build conference is around then so WP8 is expected to release around then, but after Win8 is officially released.

I think I will cross Nokia off my list for my first WP8 phone.
- The 920 is great looking but its the same design as the 900 just inflated.
I checked out the 900 in store and that a freakin big phone for a 4.3" screen.
Now had they kept the 920 the same size as the 900, I'll be ok with it.
The 920 is a fat phone with a lot of bezels.
It has some features that I really like though.
The new camera seems fantastic.
The touchscreen sensitivity(using gloves) is an awesome feature.
I imagine this would be great for people that lives in cold weather.
Its a pain in the ass to take your gloves off everytime.

I like the 820 better.
4.3" screen in a smaller package and it also comes with a S4 soc.
I also like the back snap on cover that you can change out.
My only problem is the 800x480 resolution.

As much as I hate buying Samsung, the Ativ S is more desirable for me.
I'll see what HTC has to offer for WP8.
Looking forward to owning my first WP.

needs an easily removable battery. I will not purchase a phone that doesn't have one.

I will say this for Apple, when they finally get around to announcing something at least you know you'll be able to get your hands on it (assuming sufficient supply of course). I would be interested in taking a look at the 920 in person but by the time it's actually available in stores I doubt I'll care anymore.

The specs page lists the European model when you look at the LTE bands (800/1800/2600), not the AT&T bands (700/1700), Verizon (700), or Sprint (1900).

I was really hoping this would be the replacement for my N8 and so far I'm not sold. No external memory slot and a meager 8MP sensor (granted, when reviews come out and show that it is indeed better quality than my N8 then I'll reconsider). There's quite a few pluses but not the primary ones I'm looking for. :/

The 920 is thinner but wider than the 900. Take a look at the specs to see for yourself: http://www.theverge.com/products/compare/6082/4624

And it really should be noted that companies cannot defy physics. In the industry's rush for thinness, they have compromised on what camera performance could have been. I don't care about a thin phone, I want high quality pictures because my smartphone is often the only camera I have with me.
