Any real world performance difference between the two?

There is an endurance difference of 200TBW vs 360TBW from what I've read.

Currently I have an Intl 660p which is very similar to the P1. I expected more out of this disk in terms of performance. Leaning towards the MX500, costs about 10 more.

Just realized that the MX500 is a SATA SSD.

So I have a different question now. From the Intel 660p and the Crucial P1, which will be better as an OS drive?

Both would be pretty the same. In some benchmarks, the 660P is slightly faster, but not really enough difference for most workloads to be concerned. When it comes to those two particular drives, the lower priced one would likely be the choice of many people.

Personally, I would get a non QVL NAND drive (such as the WD Blue SN550) which is pretty much the same price.

I don't have many choices where I live. I am from Cyprus and usually shopping from Greece (there is quite a price difference). I find the P1 at around 110 euro minus shipping and next in line is about 130 and going up. I made the mistake on installing in non UEFI mode and thinking of doing a fresh install on the new disk since they are roughly the same, while keeping the OS as a spare on Intel.

I did not say slow, but I did say "I expected better performance".
Compared to a SATA SSD, I did not see much difference (maybe not noticeable) except in areas of dual input/output. nvme drives shine there.

I will probably cover my needs with a regular 2.5 inch SATA disk for the time being (20 cheaper, and I only have space for only two M.2 drives), and try and get a good performance nvme for a system disk around black Friday.

I've got 2x Intel 660p 1TB NVMe SSDs, in PCI-E 3.0 x4 slots, in RAID-0. I get around 3200MB/sec reads, and 2800-3000MB/sec writes. WFM.
